I just wet to Sam's Club and saw Pacific Digital 24x10x40 burner marked down to $56.91.Of course I bought it and I found Lite-On drive inside the box.It comes with NTI software (to bad not with Nero).Great price for good burner.They are clearing this out so may be hard to find.B&M only - can't find online.Sam's item #755374.I bougt mine at Northlake IL Sam's.They have 1 left.

That is hot. Even hotter than the rebadged Liteon 24x (Cendyne) that I picked up at OM for $65 AR. Too bad I'm not a Sam's member or I might consider picking up another. This is one sweet drive..

Cool Deal. Don't sell NTI CD-Maker short though. It came with my Creative 12x (Lite-On) and was a WELCOME surprise. I have burned many an .ISO with NTI with NO problems whatsoever. If you are in the market for a burner, this is the deal to get. Nice post Nightman

Hollowman - you don't have to flash firmware to Lite-On.This drive is Lite-On - it has label saying "Lite-On CD-RW drive Model LTR-24102B".(So we don't have to do any tricks like with Iomega 12x10x32 changing to Plextor).It's Lite-On right out the box.

I recently bought the Pacific Digital Mach 24 at Fry's for 99$ + 20$ rebate bringing it to 79$. Great drive so far with the 3 music cd's i've burned! Although I don't really like NTI Cd Maker, keeps freezing for me in xp, so I use nero instead. Mine was a lite-on too, I had a post about finding a lite-on drive in my pacific digital box, but everyone likes the lite-on so I guess i'll keep it Great find, enjoy the cd-rw

Nightman, I would like to find out more info. about the Iomega / Plextor firmware issue. Could you point me to a site with info. about it? I picked up a 12-10-32 Iomega last month, and I wonder if it's a re-marked Plextor. If you have any info. or a link I would really appreciate it.

The original IOmega 12x10x32 drives were plextors (around Dec 2000), but I've heard the more recent ones are not. You might want to check out the following sites to see what was involved in updating the drives that were plextors with the plextor firmware (instead of Iomega). I updated mine when it first came out and haven't bothered with it since.

no, he's telling the truth. all the sams are carrying those pine 24x for $99.98 or someting (aopen drive). those drives have been gone from here before the christmas holiday even. they had 64mb smartmedia/compactflash also discontinued at $28.91. i just didn't say anything because it would seem like a threadcrap, and the mileage varies so much from store to store

Ace-First Iomega 12x10x32 drives were rebadged Plextors.Later they were using Sanyo drives.
Don't call Sam's!Just go to one and if they don't have it ask them to check in the system other stores.When I was buing mine, they had 3 showing in stock,but they said they could find only one.There was 1 more in the glass cabinet but the guy said he can't find the keys(we all know thet BS ).I was on rush so I didn't fight.

I was at Sams yesterday looking for nimh batteries which I didn't find. While there I checked out the drives and they only had 3 hard drive boxes out with no tags to pick up. So I walk over and check out the lockup area and there was no drive what so ever in there, Hard drive or cdrom. There must have been a lot of Christmas upgrading going on around here.
