Got mine two weeks ago and they work fine. Had a little trouble with them maintaining a charge after the first couple of chargings, but they work fine now.

I bought the V6988 smart charger and 10 2000mah batteries. They were delivered yesterday. I'm curious about the charger:

The printed spec sheet indicates that its main charging rate is 250ma and after it detects the -dV/dT curve, it drops down to a trickle charge rate of C/10. Now, the obvious question is: how can the charger know what the battery capacity, C, is? Since the charger claims to support charging different capacity batteries at the same time, it would have to maintain a separate charge counter for each of the 10 battery slots and even that would only work if the batteries are fully discharged prior to charging. So I don't trust the spec sheet here.

Second, the spec sheet says the charger has a built-in timer that stops the main charging cycle after 12 hours. My charger has been running for 17 hours now and it has yet to drop down to trickle charge mode. The batteries are only slightly warm so I'm not concerned...yet.

Anybody else using this charger with 2000mah batteries? If so, how long does it take to fully-charge them? It seems to me that since the NiMH charging process is only about 66% efficient, it should take around 12 hours to fully-charge a 2000mah battery if the charge current is 250ma.

Following up my own post...

Came home from work this afternoon and the charger had finally jumped into trickle charge mode. So it took somewhere between 17 and 24 hours for 2000mah batteries to charge. So it took a little longer than I'd expected.

If you charge all of your batteries and then dont use them, will they lose charge?

I fully charged my 2000mah batteries and left em sitting for a week. When I plugged them into my digi cam, the cam did not turn on. I recharged em everything was fine. Weird...I don't know why this happened. Anyone?

According to their site:

"At normal room temperature, NiMH batteries can generally retain 70% of their charge after 30 days. Normal self discharge of NiMH batteries is about 1 percent per day at normal room temperature. Of course, environmental factors and higher temperatures will play an important role in the above said value and will cause NiMH batteries to discharge at a slightly higer rate. Lower temperatures ( 40° to 60° F ) on the other hand will cause NiMH Batteries to hold their charge longer"

It might be your charger's problem. Try test the voltage of each batteries, if they are all under 1.2V, your charger might have trouble. I had the same situation as u before but I found it is my old charger does not support the new cells.

There was only one post on the V-1000 charger. Does anybody else have experience with that charger?

I have the MH-C204F also and it is generally a great charger but it does sometimes get flaky in that it won't actually start charging until a few minutes have passed after I put the batteries in.

MH-C204F is a good charger especially for NiCD Batteries. For the NiMh batteries, any smart charger will handle them smoothly.

I've had several batteries that wouldn't hold a charge very long after some use. I put them through the discharge cycle, recharged them and they're like new. Very nice charger. Maha also makes a newer model of this charger, model MH-C401FS. It supposed to be better than mine. Newegg has these chargers. You can also find them at SunnBattery.com and Thomasdistributing.com among others.

Another vote of confidence here for the Maha battery charger.

Add me in. Awesome charger (MH-C204F) and batteries.(2200mAh)Got this babies in my canon 420EX flash.getting over 110+ flashes.Bought my Maha's HERE

Weird.

My Powerizer AA 2000mAh batteries won't make this silly wing-flapping bat we have work; but my 1800 mAh batteries will. Any ideas what the deal is?

I think Powerizers are racist against bats.

So far I've been pretty satisfied with the Powererizer 2000s, especially given the price.

The battery pack for my cordless drill is dying so I'm tempted to replace the subC-sized NiCds with Powerizer 2000s. My guess is the NiCds are between 1500 and 1800 mAh so I'd still come out ahead and the battery pack would weigh less too. Only problem is the drill has a el-cheapo charger so using it with NiMH batts would be risky :-/

this companies battery's suck. I bought a bulk pack of 1800mAh previously. The batteries don't hold a charge. You can fully charge the batteries, but in a few days they'll be useless, even without putting them in a device. You have to charge them immediately before using them. I'm not sure why this would happen, but I've had to change batteries nearly every day. Stick with name brand rechargeables like energizer. It'll cost a bit more but will save you lots of headaches.
