!HOT! Rio 500 and HP8432 for $199

I saw this deal at my local CompUSA. Since the retail Rio goes for > $240 this is a pretty good deal. I'm thinking about getting it but i am actually waiting for the Intel mp3 player ( 128MB memory, beter LCD, radio, car/home dock, etc.. Intel Audio )

I'm not sure, I doubt they will take the rebate b/c the receipt doesnt show the Rio seperate...

The package contains Retail boxes of the 9150i and the Rio, so the UPC is not the problem...

but it's an amazing price though, after 5 minutes, I'm still thinking about whether to buy it or not!
cuz I do need a writer, always thought if I got one, I'd be getting the yamaha16x for $180. But then for an extra $20, I have to downgrade to 8x, but also have an mp3 player which kinda eliminates the point of me getting a burner .

I'll bet you could make the rebate work as well. Just buy a retail rio at a local store, copy the receipt, and then return the player for a refund!

i doubt the one in the hp box would come with one and if it does probabaly not the same one as the retail versions.

who will give you refund if you cut the UPC code off?

the most important part is the box......
even you copy the receipt..you still need the UPC code on the retail Rio..and if you cut it...NO refund....it won't work

The $50 is not needed to make this a hot deal in my opinion.... I wouldnt be too concerned with it ( greed != deals )...greed ruins the deals for the future

The # on the rebate form is just an automated thing for tracking your rebates. If the $50 is gonna make or break it for you I would suggest contacting Rio's customer service:

this sounds almost too sweet to be true... but if the rebate goes through, this sounds really awesome! 150 for both would be GREAT! the hp cdrw seems to go for 110-130 on e-bay, and the rio goes for about 180-200... hey, any new 411 on this deal? is there anything else we should know/catches?

as far as teh upc goes, what is the confusion you guys are talking about? you need the rio upc for the 50 dollar rebate, but it's two retail boxes, so it should be fine. you don't even really need the hp upc, right? seems like it should be okay... what do you guys see?
