I was just @ Culvery City and I bought 4 of them =) Sold 2 of the CDRWs already for 120 each and 2 of the mp3 player for 140 each.

Okay now I have 2 Rio 500 left, I'm gonna sell one for 140. Should I sell the other one and make money (90 bucks) or should I keep it and "pay 50 bucks for a Rio 500"

If you have a burner already, sell all, keep a Rio 500.
So far, I haven't seen a quality 64mb portable mp3 player that cheap.

I thought this was a good deal, so I went to Best Buy and had them price match, saved me about a 40 min drive to CompUSA!! BB was closing these out at $250, I saw only 2 on the shelf, CompUSA was suppose to have 14 in stock. I am close to Dayton, Ohio!

Does anyone know if this rio has input/line in? I don't want to open up my box, because I am not sure I will keep it if it doesn't have the in jack. (from the specs on box, there is nothing stated)

what do you mean they're out of stock? i think compusa still has a whole bunch in stock for 199... you end up paying 5 bucks extra for shipping, but it's still a pretty good deal. check out the link a few pages back. =)

Oh, regarding the stock of this package, there is plenty here in every Compusa in new york city. Now egay is literally flooded with rios, the deal is declining fast.

Alright, I'm greedy.

Yes, there are plenty in stock, but these things are flying off the shelves faster than I can keep track of. I think we'll see the end of this sooner than later, so I loaded up as many as I could (got a total of 9 combos).

Friends who don't have burners love the burner for $80-$100, and 64 meg MP3 players are still $250-$300 in stores.

I'm loading up while I can, and suggest that others do too. Mp3 players are really going to start coming into vogue, and this deal just can't be beat. The RIO 500 is probably one of the best I've ever seen, and since they don't produce em anymore, this package will be going the way of the dodo soon.

Just got back from my CompUSA here in Indianapolis and they have 35 instock. I picked up two. There was a price sign above the combo listing them for $249.99, but rang up for $199.99.

Just a heads up for you guys,

My friend and I bought the package, and the drive was working fine until we tried to "convert" it from the 8x drive to the 10x drive as posted in this thread. Well now the CD-RW doesn't work anymore...won't even turn on. The tray doesn't even come out anymore despite proper power connection. JUST A WARNING: DO NOT TRY IT UNLESS YOU'RE WILLING TO RISK BREAKING THE WHOLE DRIVE.

Not only that, but the CD-RW shorted out my friend's computer as well. Be warned!

You should be able to flash the drive back to the 9150i firmware if the hack doesn't work. Anyone else try and get the same result?

We could not flash back to the 9150i because the drive can no longer be powered. This basically disables the drive completely.

Got my package today. They shipped Yesterday AM and it arrived today in the early afternoon!

Got the grey Rio (whew) very nice MP3 player. Loaded and playing now. USB is lots quicker than my wifes Rio300 PP interface.

Am either going to unload the HP cheap (ok fairly cheap) :Q or use it in my next build..

Definately a good deal.
