I happy I got my card, but very disappointed at the lack of interest of BB employees to help me find the cards.

So if anyone else gets the run around when they show in stock, I would keep on them until they locate them.

BB employees can be lazy. About a year ago, I went into BB to get a cell phone and while I was walking toward the phone I wanted, out of the corner of my eye, I, at least thought, I saw a little baggie with green stuff in it, just sitting on the floor . In that split second of seeing it, I made the decision to pick it up and put it in my pocket. I did so, and then I thought to myself, "damn, I am inside BB and I just put something in my pocket which doesn't belong to me, and even more so, I think it's pot!!"

Well to make a long story short, I got my Motorolla cell phone for free after a $100 mail-in rebate, a good deal on the Cingular service, AND a nice dime bag of some REALLY good weed. NOW THAT'S A DEAL!!!

1. "Would you like the 3 year service contract on that? You can return any unsmoked portion for a
full refund!"
2. "Oh wow! Three free months of Sports Illustrated would be sooo cool! But I'm too cross eyed to
look at."
3. "We need a price check at register 3. The barcode on this baggie of "hemp byproducts" doesn't
scan!"

If it were crack, maybe they'd find their stock for a change. Hee, hee....

I have a feeling that perhaps the employees were hoarding the cards. There are probably more cases of accurate online in stock desriptions with employees "not bothering" to put the card on the shelf. Remember, they can buy it for $311, and even if they don't want one themselves they can sell it. I know target employees did this when the PS2 first came out, somehow my friend's mom (a target employee) ended up with five of them and was selling them in the newspaper with a $100 mark up.

I wonder if asking to speak with the store manager (do they allow this kind of shannaguns) would help. I'll try it tonight.

1 in Bloomington, Indiana. I got it.

Then I found out CompUSA shipped my 6800GT + Doom 3 bundle, so the GT goes back.

I ordered the gt + D3 from CompUSA today, I honestly figured they would sit on it for weeks and I could cancel.

So anyone in B-Ton, they're getting this puppy back, opened but unused.

What makes this somewhat hot is that this card can run at 6800 Ultra speeds or higher and is priced $100 less...without the crazy power requirements.

The online preorder was hotter, @ $299, which is why I'm happy I bought mine then. It's a killer card.

What I don't understand is no best buys are going to carry the 6800 ultra. Why? They say it's a "high theft" item. But explain that to me... isn't anything with a high price on it in best buy a "high theft" item? And they have no problem selling ipods for $500, and dvd players for $500, etc, all of which come in smaller sized boxes. So... where's the logic?

Got one in Mayfield, OH. There were a couple still available in Canton and other stores in my region.

ipods are locked up (here)
videocards have to be out in the open, so the consumer can examine the boxes better?
then again, they could just be talking about employee theft and not customer..
