Stupid question but here goes:

Does the 900nf click when changing resolutions? Is this common among all monitors? When playing everquest in a high resolution (without the same res option selected), the monitor clicks when I switch screens.

No I meant 950 nf. At this site http://www.samsungsupport.com/bbs.htm they have a file named W2K950NF.EXE but they do not have one for the 900nf monitors.

Just received mine yesterday and I'm not happy with it. The top 1-3 inches exhibits excessive horizontal bow (downward in the middle) which I've seen on other monitors but never to this extent. I also see some curvature in the middle of the screen. I had a friend who just purchased the 21" Dell trinitron, come over to checkout the monitor and he also felt something was wrong. On the plus side, this monitor has nicely saturated colors and brilliant whites. I'm currently using a 19" Iiyama Vision Master (non Flat) monitor at home and a 19" Dell Trinitron (P991) at work. Did I get a bad one or do they all look like this? Thanks

Just to throw in my 2c -- I have a 900NF - I'm using it right now.
It is a VERY good monitor for the price.
By the way, I'm pretty sure it's a Trinitron tube (which Mitsubishi used in some of their flat models - just to clarify that point). It has the characteristic 2-thin-horizontal wire shadows all Trinitrons have.

The sharpness is excellent. Blows away my old Sony SF.
The flatness is a great thing and I don't think I could go back to curvy monitors.

I'm running it at 1600x1200 x 85hz (32 bit true color).
That is above spec - but the monitor seems to handle it fine.

My only gripe -- convergence drifted for the first few months I had the monitor and I had to re-align it pretty often (I used a free Nokia utility for that). It's settled down and works perfectly now (Well - there is a small scatch in the anti-glare coating - but I can't really blame Samsung for that).

I got mine from Onvia several months ago.

No, it's a Mitsubishi Diamondtron tube.

The patent on aperture grill monitors ended a while back (forgot when) then other manufacturers came out with simular designs. NEC has a tube that was almost an aperture grill. It used oval shaped dots. Mitsubishi came out with the Diamondtron later. I think the Diamondtron NF in the 900NF (and some Iiyama's, NEC's, and others) is the third generation from Mitsubishi.

The only aperture grill monitor without those dampning wires is the LG Electronics Flatron which came out rather recently.

I don't think Samsung has very good QA dept. I've heard of many bad ones, but the good ones are supposed to be awesome. Mine friends looked all fuzzy. He exchanged it, but hasn't gotten the replacement yet.

Wait a minute your math is wrong i think, 434.95(gateway price) minus 35 off 400(not 40 off 400 like was stated) minus 30(samsung MIR)=369.95
