PS, Did I mention that this phone is 3G voice capable (it will almost double your battery life). And has awesome security features. I've heard the same things:

Pros:
Color screen
Long battery life
3G Voice (and mostlikely data too)

Cons:
No color webbrowser
Audio Quality

But that;s really a short list. If my friend hadn't given me his Motorola T8167 (one of the best audio clarity cell phones), I would dive into this deal!! Remember get the rebate extension in writing!!

This is a little OT but:
I have a Mot T8167, and I get dropped calls like a mother. Also I have one bar less signal than other Sprint Motorola's and Samsungs holding the phones next to each other. Maybe it's just a fluke for mine.

Thanks for the info on the T8167. I read a review giving it prasies for signal strength and audio clarity - with sprintpcs!!! It also belong to someone in NYC and she never had a problem with it. So I'm sure it depends on the location and other factors. I will use the phone and wait until the next generation 3G voice and data phones come out. I might consider the new Samsung i330.

I would be a little cautious about this deal... I just cancelled my order for the 5150 from amazon. I emailed them and asked about the rebates - they confirmed that they would honor their own rebate even if the phone was activated past the deadline. However - I also asked them about sending in the first months bill by the rebate deadline of 8/1/02 and they didn't respond at all to this question. I just don't see how you can fulfill the rebate requirements on this deal... if the phone will be delivered mid July - there's no way you can get them a copy of your first months bill prior to the mail-in rebate date deadline....

Sounds like a scam to me..

same here -_-... They better ship ASAP. I was also wondering, can I exchange the 5150 into Sprint for a different cellphone of equal/lesser value?
I'm considering this because I know that the Samsung A500 will be out soon, so it would be great if I could trade the 5150 in for it. It has 65 million colors compared to the sanyo's 256. I heard that the A500 will be the same price too.
