Hot sauces

Who here likes a good hot sauce? I like Frank 's red hot original but it's not hot enough. Eat or empty out the first 1/4 of Frank's. Add 2 tablespoons of pure cayenne powder. Now it's hot enough.

I prefer Sambals for most foods but if you need a sauce try Grace Hot Pepper Sauce

Franks is a base for wing sauce. I don't usually put it on anything plain, and on the rare occasions when I do I mix in some berserker or something to give it a bite.

Franks sucks, its a wing sauce only. Not a hot sauce for eating regular food with. Not even hot in general really.

My new fav lately has been Lousiana's Habanero hot sauce.. that stuff is HOT and tastes great. I like it better than tabasco's habanero flavor.

Another great one is Yucateco Green Habanero... but you might only find that in ghetto grocery stores.

I prefer Frank's Red Hot for Wings and to put on Burgers. Try it on a burger with swiss cheese.

As for most other dishes, I prefer Texas Pete. It's a little hotter and has a great flavor. It's my go-to when I make Shrimp & Grits and need to add heat to soups/chili.

No, Frank's makes a hot sauce and a wing sauce. The hot sauce has good flavor just no heat.
Cholula is another good tasting sauce but with no heat. It's tough to find a good tasting hot sauce with plenty of heat.

My favorite sauce depends on what I am eating. One of my favorites, as far as flavor, is the Chipotle Tabasco, but it is basically lacking any heat.

Franks is a great base for wing sauce (even just by itself!). Though on occasion i like it hotter. I will mix in some Daves insanity sauce.

I don't buy Franks because it's too expensive. Same with Tabasco.

I usually buy Texas Pete because it's cheap and I like the taste. I don't care for really "hot" sauce. Crazy hot overpowers everything and ruins the taste of the food.

I like many, but El Yucateco has been my go-to brand for many years now. Everything they make is very good. The one second from right, the XXX "special Maya" recipe is very special, indeed. Don't even think about it: just buy a bottle if you can find it.

I also like various Marie Sharps blends--they have an orange and a grapefruit sauce that is very versatile.

For cayenne-based sauces, there really isn't much variety that I've found; so I stick with Texas Pete or Louisiana/Crystal

I love the taste of it myself. It's like wings in a bottle. As a condiment it's a fine product. You can splash the shit all over something that you want to taste like Franks, and what do you know, it tastes like Franks. Same role as ketchup and mustard imo. What I think of as hot sauces don't define the whole flavor of what I add them to. They just add a certain amount of oomph and some smokey, roasty overtones (depending on the sauce).

We use it on chicken sandwiches too. I like to make a "buffalo chicken wrap" from fried chicken breast, onions, tomato, blue cheese, and Franks.

My wife and kids like it on pizza... but that's crazy stuff.

I know Franks makes a specific wing sauce and normal hot sauce, both basically suck ass. Either are 'ok' as a basic wing sauce.

I like that El Yucateco is getting some love, that is great flavor with A LOT of heat. Green one is the best.
