Email support means nothing. We must support them when they come home. If you don't like the war, don't expand your ignorance and take it out on the poor soldier when he\she gets home. They have more balls, guts, patriotism than any of us have. They are bravely and proudly following orders.

I wouldn't go so far as to say "email means nothing," but I would agree that support shouldn't end once the war is over.

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS - SEND THEM HOME

WAR IS NOT A HOT DEAL!

Its funny mriches since you're posting a political statement which is totally the opposite of what everyone else is saying -- thought political statements were banned.

People here are saying that they support our troops -- regardless of how they feel with political decisions. Our soldiers are doing what they are told to do -- legally binding orders. People's brothers and sisters, friends and family. All US citizens. Please support the people who swear their lives to defend YOU.

In the military an unwillingess to obey orders can ruin the rest of your life, may include a prison term and at the very least will make your already bad salary worse and you would most likely receive a dishonorable discharge "after any other punishment"

I sent my message to the troops, I am in constant email contact with my nephew on the constellation and he knows how much we appreciate where he is and what he is doing.

He really appreciates all those girly pics we send.. well.. at least WE get a kick out of sending them haha.

To all of those interested you can find penpals that are in the military fairly easy on the net I hope you will do so.

For those of you who are sending packages, what are you putting in yours? I would like to put guy magazines (Maxim, Stuff, etc) in my package - are these mags considered "objectionable material" (Any matter containing religious materials contrary to Islamic faith or depicting nude or seminude persons, pornographic or sexual items, or nonauthorized political materials is prohibited.)?

I've been told you can't send packages unless you are addressing them to specific people, thus you can't just send a package to a random person. I'm not sure who you're sending it to, but am just giving you and others heads up. I believe maxim is ok material. I know that's what many of my friends request.

If you go through the operationmilitarypride.org, you get a person's name and address. Because of their system (from what I read in their FAQ), you can send packages. You are right though, in general, packages sent to "any service man" will not be accepted.

Maxim and Stuff both feature "seminude persons". I would hold off. Ask your GI. If they say it is ok, send away.
