not to be advertising here or anything, but I bought one of these a while back for $200. i believe you can find a better product for a similar price. the range isn't that spectacular at all, the answering machine maxes out at 64 messages, and there's no delete all feature which is really really really annoying

There is a delete if you check the messages from one of the four handsets it supports. It's a great phone / answering system for $69.99 - however (as I'm sure countless people will echo) some have problems.

These are in fact excellent phone systems, much better engineered and with more powerful features than similar models from panasonic or sony. See below for a long list of whiners, but if you can get a good one at a good price it's well worth it.

Two weeks ago, CompUSA was clearing these out for $49.88 (un-advertised). Now there back up to $119.88. Same thing for the cheap Panasonic's and VTech's they had on clearance - still in stock at the original price.

Don't waste your $$, these phones are crap. I got a few for even less than this & ended up returning most of them because something is always going wrong with them.

If you want a good phone go with a panny, if you're looking for a piece of crap to foist off on an unsuspecting friend.... go for it.

$39.99 once in a while. But before you buy check out the reviews,
at amazon.com & epinions.com, on this phone. I decided not to risk

Yes, I am yelling. They are extremely poor phones. I went through 2 of them before getting a refurb one from Siemens, and it didn't work either.

Just a FYI -- it may work fine when you first get it, but performance can degrade with these phones.

IT MAY BE FINE WHEN YOU BUY IT, BUT THE SUCKER MIGHT FAIL!

(you might refer to this as "timed end of life" or something -- where an appliance fails just after the warranty period ends)

Mine have been working fine for 2 years now. The 2415 and the 2 additional handsets.

Hell, it's Staples. Buy it, try it, and if you don't like it, return it. This is one of the few digital answering machines that you can understand when it plays back.

Only holds 65 messages? Do you never answer your phone? How about deleting messages after you hear them. It would be a PITA to cycle through 20 messages let alone 65 to find the one you want.

As far as paying $99 for additional handsets, why not just buy additonal fully functional similar units (handset/answering machines)??? They're $69 vs. $99 for goodness sake! I checked on the features and you can turn off the answering machine if needed, so only one can be the 'main' answering machine for your home. Just my $0.02. I thinks I'm going to try this out and see. I've had a panasonic and it died, same with a GE. I was going to get a Sony, but the similar unit is $159. Can't pass up $69, plus the $10 off $40 in store purchase coupon that's been going around!

I just tried the 2415 last night. The sound quality is great. My friend said can't tell I was using cordless phone to call him. No static noise. Cristal clear! For the range, I am very satisfy. I walked out for at least 40 feet away from my home, the sound still like I was at home. The windows are closed, the doors are closed. Lots of functions. Very easy to use. Sometime you may need to read the manual. Havn't tried the answer machine.

But the battery is terrible bad. I charged the handset a whole night, let the handset standby this morning at 9:00, found the handset out of power at 11:00, which is really unacceptable.

I will try to use my spare rechargable battery.

Something is wrong with your battery. I can leave my handset out of the charger for a couple days after a full charge and it will still register half charged and I can use it with no problem. Maybe your battery has a burned in memory? That shouldn't be an issue if your unit is brand new.

I took one since Compusa deal 2 weeks ago, basically it works fine.
Anyway, the signal is not as clear as their advertise. I might suggest Sony for the similar price.

I got the refurbished 2415 from Fry's for 39.99....man....the first set makes loud noise when power on....the second one only work for couple weeks.....now the handset is giving me problem......not really that good.....my cheap panasonic had never give me any problem....

Could you explain "battery has a burned in memory"? I just don't understand.

The batteries are about as good as the phone. Tired of the 4-hr battery standby life of the original batteries (on the one phone out of the 6 that worked enough to keep), I purchased some new rechargeables for it (1700mAH). Now standby life is nearly 36 hrs... still sucks. My panasonic has a standby of nearly a week!

I had gotten a really good deal on a total of about 6 units & ended up returning all but two because their performance was completely unacceptable (the ones that worked at all), & the other two barely work. They weren't even worth ebaying because ebay is always flooded with refurbs (what does that tell ya?) for next to nothing.
