HOT (similar) Dell 400sc 2.4c $399 (9/4-9/17)

I just got my new Dell SB catalog that shows starting tomorrow the 400sc will be $399 with free upgrade to 2.4c P4. This is the same as the current deal except you can't get the Celeron 2.0 system for $299.

What is the standard amount of RAM and HD that comes with that system? I just got the 400sc a few days ago 2.8c w/ all minimal components for $460 AR. :-D I can't wait!

Will be upgrading my P3 system and saw this Dell 400SC. I am a bit concerned about the 250W power supply since will be adding a cd writer and several more hard drives. Which is the better way to go 1. upgrading my current system with a new IS7-E MB, a P4 2.4 and some PC3200 ram or 2. go with this 400SC and shhift some of my components over the the new system? Also, is there any way to tell what motherboard and ram are in this system? Thanks

The power supply is 250W but Dell rates it conservatively. 250W is equivalent to ~350W. There is alot of talk on the Dell forums regarding power supplies.




also, it is listed as a server, how easy is it to make this a home cpu?

We have one at work. It has an AGP Pro slot.

It does indeed have an AGP Slot. My main PC is the 400SC w/ 2.8Ghz I purchased about a month ago. I am running an FX5200 with 2-512MB DDR333 with no problems!

I just checked it right now and seems they have an extra special on it... free upgrade to 256mb.
