Just to let those ppl who live in Southern Cali that you can buy the tv that they have on sale by pricematching Frys and applying the 10% coupon that you get in the mail. I just purchased their Sony Wega 32FS100 for 539 for tax. Their listed price is 699.99. I pricematched frys who has it for 599 and used the 10% coupon. The price listed at frys for the following tvs are:

Sony Wega
27 - 399.99
32 - 599.99
36 - 799.99

PS: Just for those who want other kinds of tv such as HD tv. I can say that the tv at Frys are usually at least $100 difference. So for those out there who wanted to buy a tv but didn't want to because it is never on sale should take avantage of it because you can stack the 10% on top of the pm. If you are lucky you can get them to pm 110% which would be better.

Too make this deal hotter do the following (heh only good benefit ever working retail is how to use the system )

Price match to Sears (110% or 105% depending on state), apply for their CC and get either 0% Finance or $10 off first purchase.

Also you can find lots of coupons for Sears in the newspaper including a 10% off coupon anything over $150 I saw yesterday in Houston.

Be nice to sales associate and tell them you've been great, "Can i see a Mitsubishi Big Screen with a built in HDTV decoder, a friend of mine has it and I'm really interested about it." Reason to say that is to act like a customer and the sales clerk knows he will get 11% commissions on it (I know because I used to work at sears). Talk to them for a bit about it and tell them to give you the specs on it and you will measure etc...

When checking out say nicely "well I'll definately get that Mitsu upon measuring from you since you've been such a great help, but I was wondering could I get free delivery on this TV"

If they saw no, well you are talking to an idiot sales person .

So it would be Price Match Cost - $10 - 10% - 10% with free delivery ($40 value)

36" : $576 + tax

32" : $430 + tax

27" : $284 + tax

Try moving the 36" - 236lbs. Yea that sucks. Seriously though - that price is SMOKING HOT for a 36" Wega. It is virtually unmatched in picture quality excluding the new HDTV's. Just make sure you calibarate it properly using a DVD like AVIA or VIDEO ESSENTIALS. Alot of people don't do this and end up with a crappy looking picture.

I don't know how you got these numbers but they're wrong. It should be:

36" : $999 - $220(110% difference from $799) - $78(10% over $150) - $10 with free delivery = $691 + tax

32" : $699 - $110(110% difference from $599) - $59(10% over $150) - $10 with free delivery = $520 + tax

27" : $449 - $55 (110% difference from $399) - $39(10% over $150) - $10 with free delivery = $345 + tax

I work at Best Buy and that may work at some stores, I'm actually in charge of the Home Theater (read: TV's) at the Best Buy Store up here and I would NEVER let one of my guys do that, maybe that's why we're #10 in the company but you cannot stack offers like that. What I would tell you is you can EITHER get our price OR their price, because you sure could not go to Fry's and say hey I want to use this Best Buy coupon at your store instead of using it at theirs. They would never take that. So try it if you like, but you better be a darn good sweet talker or it probably won't work.

yes, the above poster makes a good point about stacking the offers. a lot of places will say either/or. the original poster really lucked out though. im surprised they let it go for that low, i believe that price is below wholesale price for the unit, so congrats.

edit: just read your thread over at FW. other people got it to work also. hmmmm, might actually be a deal. guess we'll have to sit back and see what happens to other people and if they are successful.

At that point I'd say bye bye to you and head on over to Fry's to buy my TV.
Prolly gonna be #11 soon....

Only Best Buy doesn't let you stack offers. Places like CC will PM and take BB's coupon...

EDIT: That's exactly what I did. BB said that they could either PM Walmart for Finding Nemo OR take the 10% off coupon, so I went to CC where they PM'd Walmart (at 110%) AND took BB's 10% off coupon. Ended up paying $12.60. So don't listen to the BB guy...try your luck!

Or listen to him and go somewhere else, I haven't been to best buy in over a year since they screwed me on a HD deal.

Great prices by the way just make sure to do budiness with CC/Sears.

LOL - I can't really even discriminate between the stores anymore b/c they'll either 1) reject it and tell you that you're being stupid or 2) allow it and treat you like a criminal.

CC does have the good PM policy although they have treated me like a thief dozens of times.

I'd go to Sears. They WILL let you add ont he 10% coupon, the coupon even reads "on regular or sale priced merchandise". This isn't some sort of "deal", it's their policy to MATCH PRICE not make deals. Sad you call it "Dealing". That's such a 70's term.

I do this sort of thing all the time with my local Sears. This is also why Best Buy only sees my shadow darken their doorway once a year - Black Friday - to snap up their lost-leaders.

Sears proves itself to their customers over and over again, most recently illustrated by how they handled the pricing error on the Sony dual deck VHS/DVD combo. Most customers got the product. Best Buy would have told us all to get bent.

If you really manage like that at a Best Buy then your the typical manager. Have fun being typical.

typical = successful.....from what I have seen of Sears electronics it is not the department keeping the store afloat.

Perhaps not but because of the deal they made me on my DVD player a while back, I also bought my stove and fridge from them. On the otherhand BestBuy screwed me once and I haven't been back since.

The 32" Wega I bought 3 years ago is still a kick @$$ tv, but as others have said, it is HEAVY If you can get free delivery, go for it. It's just not worth straining your back (and that of a friend...) over.

I am drooling over a 32" WEGA but our 27" Toshiba still has many years left in it.
