I know that there are many threads about sprint existing customers calling the CSR's and getting retention plans, but i haven't seen anyone getting one with the vision plan yet. Anyway, i was already used to getting those retention plans since i have successfully got them twice for myself and many times for other friends. I was calling today, to get one of my friends a sprint deal. She had two phones attached to her account, which makes it three phones under one account. She had 800 shared anytime + nights and weekends starting at 9pm,, paying $99.99 a month. With 3 phones sharing 800 anytime a month, she ended up with $200's and $300's of sprint bills. So i called up today, and got this:

Before : $59.99 for primary line, $20 for each additional line ($99.99 total)
800 Shared Anytime, 4000 Nights and Weekends starts at 9pm

Now : $85.00 for primary line, free secondary line, $20 for the third line ($105 a month)
2000 Shared Anytime, Unlimited Nights and Weekends starts at 9pm, Unlimited PCS to PCS calling
1st incoming minute free for all three phones, and VISION FREE for all three phones.
$90 credit towards a purchase of a new phone for the primary line, $50 credit for the second line..
And weirdly, they did not start the contract over (original contract ends APRIL 2004)

First they came up with the ***Modified*** version of their shared minute vision plan, which includes unlimited nights and weekends with more anytime. So i guess they can add vision for free when they're modifying your retention from a "VISION" plan instead of the regular "VOICE" plan. Then i asked NICELY for the 1st incoming minute, then i asked if they could add it for all three phones. All you have to do, is to just meet a nice representative and ask NICELY. I thought my retention voice plan was pretty cool, but after getting this VISION RETENTION plan for my friend, my deal was just killed. So i think i'm calling again, to get my plan changed. I hope that this is not a repost, and if you've read this thread please feel free to bump for other people ^__^.

If anyone does not understand what my thread is about, first do a search on SPRINT deals and read about the retention plan deals. Then you'll understand.

First they offered it for the first line only, but i asked for the rest of the line. If you were to start from the scratch, i'd say you have to tell them you don't want the service because you're not getting vision.

I do. YOu have to look at the people who already went into retention, though- they need to buy new hardware, so the cycle on this will be delayed somewhat...

IMO, this is not that hot of a deal. The $85 for 2000 minutes shared is a standard plan I believe that includes unlimted vision, N/W, PCS 2 PCS, etc. What is hot is that you got first incoming minutes added and that they did not start the contract over. Vision is inluded on all the shared plans starting with the $85 one I've heard. But you still got a good deal. I got 2500 anytime, rest being unlimited, on a 3 person shared plan for $100. I also get a 25% discount due to my job so I only pay $75. Now that is hot!

Hmm...I may have to call them back again.

The best they would offer me was 750 anytime, 3000 n/w at 8pm, and free pcs-to-pcs (not sure if that was unlimited or a set number) for $39.99 with free vision for 3 months only. I declined, because I currently have 650 anytime minues with 3000 n/w for $35.99 and have a hard time using those minutes. I certianly see no reason to increase my bill by $4+tax when I probably don't use more than 500 of my anytime minutes as it is.

When I just tried to add Vision to my existining retention plan, I was told it can't be done without switching plans. I passed on Vision for now, especially since I tired playing with it on my mom's phone and found it slow and not as exciting as I expected.

Is the unlimited vision plan included in the existing plans for the life of the plan, or is that a Free for x months, then $10 more/month?

If I can go to 700 anytime minutes with free vision for $35, I'd be all over that.

yeah, you are currently on my previous plan. i started complaining about it b/c i had just bought this new phone and couldnt use it. it took them a while, but they were able to upgrade it. i didnt ask for the additional minutes, they said that they had to update to a current retention plan (at least i think that is what they said). i did this a couple months ago though

Well, i tried calling Sprint Retention again, and they advised that they could not add Vision to this existing plan. (I still don't understand whay they can't do that). The rep then tried to sell me the regular consumer plan of 300 Anytime minutes & unlimited N/W for $35 with Vision free for 2 months, then $45 thereafter. I politely declined.

At this rate, when my contract expires next year (I just got a free month and $100 credit towards a new phone through retention this past Jan with another 1 yer commitment) I guess I may have to consider moving to another vendor. Then again, I'm sure they will offer me a buch better retention plan at that time.

You just need to meet a nice representative. If they don't sound too courteous to you, just hang up and dial again... The first rep i called offered only the 2000 anytime and nights and weekends... So i hung up, called again, met a nice rep, asked nicely and got everything attached to the plan.

I got the free vision plan a month ago when i threatend to cancel. I have a 2000 minute plan, $79 with the second phone free, shared minutes, and free night and weekend, free long distance. They gave me the vision free. It is crap, slow, buggy, Ok i can check my email. But sending on a phone. Everything is just too slow. Just a waste of time.
