What would be a better choice to get for a heatsink. I was thinking of either getting the SLK-900(A) or the Zalman CNPS7000-Cu Intel P4 for my 2.6c setup.
What would you guys recommend? I would probably use either an 80mm or 92mm panaflo L1A fan on the SLK-900 if I was to get it. I want as quiet of a system as I can get. Right now I'm using the stock intel hs/fan along with 4 80mm panaflo and can bare the noise of it. I would prefer for it to not be any louder then it is now.

Also, I see two different version of the Zalman. There's the ZALMAN CNPS7000A-CU and the Zalman CNPS7000-Cu. What's the difference between the two. I don't know what the A after the 7000 stands for?

Zalman 7000 comes in Cu Copper or Al-Cu Aluminum-Copper hybrid, which is actually superior. Not only is it cheaper and lighter but it ultimately cools just as well, although with slightly more temp variation according to a thorough review I read but cannot recall where. Anyhoo, works for me and only requires 10%/1500 RPM fan speed using SpeedFan during normal operation to keep my "P2.9" around 32C so is rather quiet. I have it set to run as fast as necessary to maintain 40C so it primarily only cranks up for games in which case the added noise is drowned out anyway.

If you're looking for a quiet computer, one of the hardest things to find is a cheap, quiet power supply fan with decent ratings.
I've also found that the airflow around the intake makes a lot of noise, even with a low rpm fan :frown:

If you are planning to buy anything, you might want to double-check availability. I ordered GC69 (on sale for $5.50) early Friday morning and just got an email that it is out of stock. Both then and now the site states that it is in stock.

Not too good my first experience with SVC.

the problem being cheap...you pay the price for a quiet psu...get a fotran or mod a psu if you don't want to pay for a zalman, seasonic, or quietpc psu...I prefer to spend the money for quiet pcs on all my rigs.
