Online activation didn't work for me and I e-mailed them at
skytel-activation@wcom.com. They requested the following information in order to activate the watch:
- Capcode
- Serial number
- Address
- Service plan
- Phone Number
For service plan, I specified that this was the free offer and included the links to the pages offering 1 year of free service on both the Timex and Skytel sites. I guess if you include all that information in your initial request it may speed things up a bit.
I first contacted them last wednesday, sent the additional info on friday, and I'm still waiting for them to activate the watch.
I also tried to activate by phone, but the CSR confirmed there is a $20 charge for phone activation. He said he sent an e-mail to his colleagues in charge of e-mail activation, though: he asked me for the CAP, serial number, frequency, etc. and forwarded it to them.
