I was snooping around Best Buy today while I was waiting for my KLH speakers and spotted the Kensington FlyFan (link) for $16.99 with a $15.00 rebate. I have no idea what I need this goofy thing for?but is was only $1.99.

I haven't looked up the specs at all, but how many volts/amps can I get from a USB port? It's time to do some inventing. If there's a gadget... there's someone out there who needs it. USB fingernail trimmer? You could even have software to track your rate of fingernail growth.

the flyfan is all that is right and good with america. god bless the free enterprise system. I wonder if this really moves enough air to do anyting, but at a few bucks after rebate, i might be willing to take a shot. Could be a cool little toy to add to my lan party stuff.

I've seen cell phone chargers, fans, and lights for USB ports. These are pretty cool LAN party gadgets, indeed. Now someone just needs to make a USB powered refrigerator.......... Just one of those little ones that will hold a 6-pack and runs off of 12 VDC. That's the ultimate LAN party gadget.

I picked up 5 of these at ebay.com, poor guy had a "buy now" price of $5. (he meant to put $50).

Anyways, I hooked up 4 of these to a powered USB hub on my desk at work......talk about geek factor.

i got my flyfan, i must say, it kicks ass. It definately moves more air than i was expecting. Its no twister, but cool for the $2 after rebate and it will have a permanent home in my lan bag. I may get a second one for those hot summer days in someones garage.

We were all kinda chuckling about this product well i got it tonite it is kinda cool the blades are nylon but it does pump some air! Gonna buy one for my son.For use maybe with your laptop in some sweltering environment. 1.99 AR and worth every penny!!!

Staples has several USB lights on sale - one on a coiled wire with clip to attach to a laptop? The 2nd is flexible enough to be twisted around to shine light into a PCs case so you can see the masking on that chip easily. I got it several weeks ago, and have probably used it 40 or 50 times already.

I just installed a Maxtor 5-port USB 2.0 PCI card in a clients' machine. The 5th port is on the card INSIDE the machine. So I guess if extra cooling is necessary inside his box, this flyfan might come in handy!?!
