Not quite as fast but good shipping. I ordered UT2004 on the last 48hr madness offer. Got the DVD version. Down side is I started playing Internet games again. Had stopped after Quake2.........

yeah, but its a great game to play. Onslaught is my favorite! BF2 gets old fast! where as Onslaught seems much better balanced.

Im in for 1 to. I played the demo and onslaught is really fun. Now ill get a chance to play the other maps. And the mods look pretty cool to.

My DVD version came today. They said it was going to take 2 weeks for the "Dirt Cheap $1.99 shipping," but it only took 3 days.

Installing it now, I'm so excited!

OMG!!! I'm so excited, I pop in the DVD, and then it asks for the CD-key... I'm like... ok. It says it's in the back of the manual. I check there, nothing. Then I flip through the manual scanning it, nothing. Then I google it, and everyone says the DVD version cd-key is in the case under the manual (a sticker). ....there's no fvcking sticker!!! OK, then I read some ...don't come with a cd-key?!?!!?!?!??!

OK, GoGamer is going to get a nasty call from me tomorrow. They're paying for the shipping for the new one btw, this is ridiculous. :|

Hey guys! The gogamer DVD version isn't $11.89 anymore. I was thinking about picking up the CD version at the Egg, but 6 CDs is nuts! I've played UT2004 and it's definitely worth $10! I love FPS games to death and this one does not disappoint! I really wanna buy it, but 6 CDs sucks wang. Any other good deals on the DVD version?

yeah I've heard that you can burn the CD's to a DVD
it works, but a few people replied with unworking DVD's
I edited it so I won't mislead any one

Lol, you nubasorous. www.cd-2-dvd.com has tutorials on all the conversions, I just did it a few minutes ago for FarCry (5 CD's...eek!).

Yeah I just found the site via Google! Hey, I don't really buy games much so this isn't an issue! The last game I bought was HL2 and before that was...WarCraft 3 I think.

1) Create a Temp folder on Hardrive, name it UT2004_CD1 (This will be the title to the final DVD)
2) Copy all the contents of CD1 to this newly created folder.
3) Then starting with CD2, JUST COPY THE FOLDERS to the newly created UT2004_CD1 folder.
Overwrite any folders that are the same (ie: the ?help?, ?Texture? folders etc)
4) Do the same with CD3, CD4, CD5 and CD6 JUST COPY THE FOLDERS over,

5) Add another folder for the Updates, Patches and Cracks etc. Name this folder whatever you choose.

6) Open the ?Autorun.inf? with Notepad and you need to add the line:
open=autorun.exe
Like this:

open=autorun.exe

7) Burn to a DVD using the Label: UT2004_CD1

For those of you just getting into Unreal Tournament, be sure to visit http://www.UnrealPlayground.com -- the flagship community website for custom Capture-the-Flag (CTF) maps. It has a nice discussion forum and used to host a UT (1999) that was packed with 20 live human players 24/7 back in the day. The Playground also hosts Frag Friday CTF map get togethers for the original UT (1999) for those who want to compare the game play of the original (which many regard as far superior) to that of UT 2004.

For those concerned about backing up the DVD version, it is easily done, and works great, but you just have to use the right software. It can be copied using Nero, and works fine. Some programs like Alcohol have known issues, and will not back it up. Use Nero instead. Google it.

I used Nero 6 and it didnt work. I did a straight DVD to DVD copy. No ISOs involved.

Is Nero able to read the specific copy protection off the DVD? I've always used Alcohol 120% to make backup discs.
