This sounds like a video card problem - try reinstalling drivers, or if you can - test the software with a different video card. I've got an old Voodoo 3500 (too damn cheap to upgrade) and its working great here...

Actually - this should be YMMV. Any staples manager who knows about the rebate will not let you price match. Their policy states that they will reduce any discounts (rebates, coupons etc) before the price match. Here is the relevant quote from their pricematch:

I got this scanner PM'd w/ Andara or whatever the other thread had. Staples rebate for $70 and I'll wind up getting it for around $5.00

I'm running it on XP and use it mainly for copies. If anyone has any trouble running this on XP i suggest, HIGHLY getting the 8100LOGOCERTIFIED drivers from their website. I believe that there is a link AND instructions on the other thread, somewhere!

This is the second last step from the rebate form, when it takes you to the last step, that URL isn't a valid URL, coz that page must evolve from this page.

Actually, I was thinking the same thing after I read the policy. Shouldn't they know about the rebate? I guess in OCDuron case, they didn't.

But then, when you send in the rebate, would they not know you paid less than $70 and so reject your rebate? I was thinking maybe you don't PM it and then send in the rebate so your receipt shows the regular price. Then go back within 14 days to PM it. If it works, great, if not, you have it for $30.

What do y'all think?

well, i talked to the girl at staples when i bought mine, i showed her my rebate and explained how i was price matching it. she said that would work no problem. she didn't even charge for shipping so it rang up to be 55.49 or something. great find, thanks man! i got a free scanner and made 15 bucks =)
