Stupid question is say I don't use my phone as a modem but I have the free WAP internet on my VX4400, would this increase the speeds of the DL'ing while surfing the Net on my phone or is this just for using your phone as a dialup modem. I would imagine that it would be both but just wanted to clarify.

how's your reception with this phone?

Hmmm, I haven't had many reception problems with my phone. Do you have the latest firmware on your 720? It should be 1.2.22.2DP.

Seems everyone here is discussing connecting this to a laptop via a USB cable. Has anyone tried making a connection to a PocketPC2002 device? No USB input on these (at least not on my Amigo PD-600C). Is there a special cable that can be used to connect to PDAs somehow?

According to the express network equipment page:

Express Network: Equipment

The v120e is supported. Is this incorrect?

I tried to connect using this phone and had troubles. The help guy at the data center said I needed to upgrade the software on my phone.

has anyone successfully got the v120e to connect to express network?

Krusty,
When I try to install the driver for the Motorola T720, nothing happens. Or rather, my computer still claims to say that the the USB device is not recognized even when I manually point it to the .inf file.

Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks

It is the v120e (my wife's phone, I have the 120c). I brought it into Verizon to update the software and they game me a brand new phone. I tried again and still had problems.

I then realized (after some investigating) that I needed to add an init string and tried that. I was able to get qnc working but not express network (I did change the string from = 2 to = 3) I'll play around with it a little more when I can use my wife's phone and see what I can do.

anyone have any help for installing the motorola driver on XP? my comp is not recognizing my T720 as the modem and that is my problem.

i had previously used the office kit from verizon to log on to EN but then returned it(didn't want to pay 75 bucks). the cable from eforcity that i bought is not recognizing the modem for some reason, don't know why

i restored the computer back to where it was before i used the verizon software and tried installing the drivers from KrustyVT, but that didn't even work. if anyone has any help, that would be great.

When I installed it, I executed the software (no cable attached), the Motorola driver installed, and I rebooted Windows. Upon reboot I plugged the cable/phone in, Windows recognized it, and away I went.

k, i was really getting confused about this so i just broke down and called Verizon (1 800 2JoinIn)

i was transferred over to the dept. with all the info and i was told this:

the June 2nd thing is legit, anyone who signs up for new service, adds new features, or changes their plan after June 2nd has express network if they have a EN 1x capable phone
Verizon's EN Page

This only uses your minutes, and the CSR told me that nights and weekends are good with EN.

To set this up, get your PC to recognize the phone, then

dial #777, use yourphonenumber@vzw3g.com for the username and vzw for the password. i put that in there and was online in about 15 seconds.

hope this helps

edit: i'm using a t720 phone with a usb data / charging cable i got from eforcity off ebay and WinXP Pro (xp had no problem finding the driver right away)
the direct number for verizon's data CSR's is 1-866-788-9387 option 2-2

I have always felt that was a dog phone, RF was mediocre, I have had much better reception with the V60i and Vx4400

Got this to work Yesterday! My phone is on America's Choice I believe. I have a corporate phone, and even though there is a password on the account to prevent changes to it, the CSR let me add this on. -Tal

I have been trying to get this working on my LG 4400VX but so far have had no luck.
I keep getting "Error 692" did anyone else with a 4400 have this problem?
Edit: Now I seem to be getting "Error 633" Which has something to do with "Opening Port"

I finally seem to have gotten it working. I had an "unknown" device listed in device manager and I simply disabled it and it seems to be working fine now. (Either that or one of the other million small things I did )
QNC works perfect. (It wasn't working earlier)
Though I still cannnot connect to the EN... Says my username and/or password is not correct... Therefore I can only assume EN has not been activated on my account yet. I would call them but I doubt they are open on Sunday so I shall try tomorrow.
At least I finally got it working at all!

Just a heads up for everyone using "Verizon" services.
There is a great chance that they will be striking on August 1st.

Good Luck

(I didn't think I would get anyone on Sunday but apparently they are open)
Ok so I just called *611 and went straight to customer service (0)...
After waiting on hold for a little while I got a rep. he seemed to have no idea what I was talking about. He knew about the express network. But he knew nothing about being able to use my regular minutes for it. He kept trying to sell me one of the expensive plans... I said no I want to use my regular minutes and he just kept saying there was no way he could do that. Then I asked why everyone that signed up after June 2 got it free... He said it was some BS about new camera-phones having to use it. I was like fine whatever thanks bye.
I think I will try again here in a minute... Is there a better way to do this?

Has anybody seen a good deal on one of the cards that you can use to hook a PDA into their network? Have a PDA with a PCMCIA slot and was checking around locally. Lowest I could find so far was $149.99 with a $50 mail in rebate.
