<< VisionTek claims your slot has to be AGP 2.0 (1x/2x/4x) to use this card. However, even if your slot is AGP 1.0, it seems that as long as your motherboard is delivering 3.3v voltage to the AGP slot, you are able to use this card. My motherboard falls exactly into this fortunate category, although my computer was purchased in 1999.
So you may want to check if your motherboard enabled the 3.3V requirement. >>
I have an ABIT BM6 motherboard with AGP 1.0 (1x/2x). I've been using the GTS-V for 3 months and haven't encountered any problems between the card and the motherboard. I believe my motherboard is one of the later BX boards (it has a PPGA socket, not a Slot 1), so ABIT presumably bumped up the voltage in anticipation of the then-new AGP 2.0 spec. I have the card running in 2x mode, but I'm not taking a performance hit because 4x doesn't make a difference on a Celeron system (or many other CPUs for that matter).
