This has been posted over at f@twally for over a week and is really hot if you are interested in high quality sunnies.
I can't believe nobody else has posted this.
There are still many styles and appears to be stock. I have ordered 2 times in the last week and could not be happier.
Both orders came in only 3-4 days. Shipping runs about $5.50 for 2 pairs for me to Fl.

Call me ignorant, but I've never heard of either of these companies (Campmor or Vuarnet). Will Campmor get the sunglasses to me without ripping me off, and is Vuarnet decent quality? Thanks.

Campmor sends out a little booklet catalog with lots of outdoor and camping stuff, they've been doing that for years. And Vuarnets sunglasses used to be popular, haven't heard much about them the last few years though. Anyway, good deals for glass-lens sunglasses.

I caved in and ordered the Vuarnet PX3000 #3457 Sunglasses. I haven't heard of them either, but $25 (inc. shipping) for a pair of glass lens sunglasses sounds like a hot deal to me. Even a good sale at a store wouldn't bring these down to less than 45-50 bucks. As long as a pair of shades looks decent and offers good protection, I really don't give a darn about what the label says.

Still debating that rf remote everyone has been gettin in on. I still have an old remote/ir sensor that I never use because setting up the macros and key commands was so tedious. Although it seems that people have been getting WinTV (and other apps) to work quite well.

yumyum001,

I'm referring to this thread: Remote

Sorry, I thought it was rf but it is IR. Seems like a handy gadget to have.

just about every pair of these sunglasses is fugyly

Actually, there are many nice, stylish pairs there. The ones that
most people would call "odd" (some would say ugly, but I know
people who love them, too) are the ones that end in "31". These
are the "Vortex" Vuarnets, a replacement for their old, beloved,
famous, and ugly "Glacier" glasses. These are intended for skiing,
and don't look odd at all in that context.

But aside from the "31" series glasses, there are a lot of nice models.

Yeah. any B&M stores in bay area that I can try it out? I've bought a sunglasses online a couple years ago and I gave it to a friend as it doesn't fit well.

I remember my high school physics professor said something about these (about the only thing I remember from HS Physics). He said, the most important thing about lenses is, if you buy sunglasses, buy polarized lenses, or don't buy any at all. My college prof. said the same thing. I went to vuarnet.com and it appears the only polarized lenses are the 7200 and 7300 series. There are only 3 of these sold on campmor.com and if you look at these:

7219
and 7331
well, I don't think they look that stylish. I'm not big on fashion or stylishness, but I don't want to look like a freak either, and these bubbly things look like something a frog would wear.. HAHA get it?? Vuarnet? Frog?

The first set actually looks like an awesome set of lenses.. double ground glass and all. Maybe someone who orders can tell us what they actually look like. I wouldn't want to get them without trying them on.

These are some of the highest quality optical lenses like RayBans.
They are not knock-offs. If you look at the front of the lens at the top by the frame you can see a small V etched in the glass.
This is to verify they are authentic.
Still seems to be some left. My mom just got a couple of pairs too.

I've been using Vuarnet glasses since the late 80's and have never tried sunglasses that I liked better. Thanks for the great deal! I'm going to pick up a couple of spares.

I have been wearing the Vuarnet model 3456.14 for over a year now and just bought my wife a pair and another pair for myself. I've worn RayBan's, Revo, Oakley, and Cebe and these are the best (glass) lenses I've used. The metal frames are very high quality and have been been finished with a very attractive gun metal blue color. All components can be repaired or replaced. In fact, Vuarnet warranties that if anything happens to your glasses in the first year of ownership, they will replace them free of charge. I took advantage of this after dropping my glasses on some pavment. This particular model has an anti-reflective coating on the inside of the lens to prevent reflection and transmit very close to true color. The lenses are also very dark, which I prefer. This model was referred to me buy a European airline pilot who swore by them. Another nice feature is the lack of visual obstruction in the peripheral vision - a reason why I gave up my Oakleys, it was unsafe to drive with them.

I paid about $165. with a discount for my first pair, at 20 bucks and from a great company like Campmor, this deal is fantastic.
