I saw this while glancing through the 9/11 one-page ad (Austin, TX) this morning. It's a bundle of the XP 2000+ cpu and the Soyo KT333 Dragon lite Mobo (both retail) for $159. I thought this was a pretty good deal. Am I mistaken?

Newegg lists the XP2000+ for $94 (OEM) and the Mobo for $84.

Yea they have this at the phoenix frys for 149. Id say 159 or 149 is a great deal, but thats if you can actually get stuff that hasnt already been returned. (anyone who knows frys knows what im talking about) If i hadnt already bought my stuff from Newegg id be on this deal.

I saw the ad. What we have here in the bay area is the bare cpu for 149. I wanted to ask how the Soyo board performs. Good stable board with good oc'ing options???
Thanks in advance.

As far as I know, the Soyo has awesome OC utilities. You can increase/decrease the FSB settings by 1 MHz, so you'll know just how much you can squeeze out of your CPU.

newegg.com has the SoyoMB for $84 AND free shipping, (I got mine from there, and yes it's awesome for overclocking...), also the AMD XP 1600 for $54.99 with free shipping. They also have the XP 2000 for $97. A little more, but if you don't live near a Fry's, this could be an alternative for you.

Thanks,
Jeff
