Best Buy has this drive for $79.99 instore( NO REBATES) I bought one and took it to Circuit City and PM for $69.99 out the door. I got a lot of hassel from there CSR, but in the end they buckled. I told them is wasn't a good I did to change there price mathcing policy in mid stream. They tried to say that after the rebate the price was the same as Best Buy. I pointed out to them that they don't price match rebates. Then I got the deer-in-the headlights look from the CSR. Circuit City has the same drive as Best Buy but the model # has an L on the end. I told them this was becuase Western Digital had change the packaging on all of there HD's, (Circiut City drive WD1200JBRTL) ( THE L IS NOT ON THE BEST BUY DRIVE, so YMMV.) I price matched to my local Circuity City for $69.99+tax, plus $100 MIR.

I went to a different Cirucuit City and bought there drive first for $188 w/$100 MIR. One rebate is $80 and the other is $20. Took it back about an hour later with my receipt from my first purchase and got a price adjustment. End of the Day I got 2 WD 120 Gig 8 meg buffer HD's, AR I get the drive free and make $54!!!!!!!!!

You can't get this deal on the website. You must visit your local B&M. Best Buy lists this drive as $179.99 on there website, but the in-store price is $79.99.

I just called my local BB (Kansas City, Quivera Rd) and their price out the door is 179 or something like that. Nowwhere near the 79 qouted here... sounds like it may be a regional thing.

Drive is showing as $179 + tax OTD at the Brandon, FL BB. Newspaper sales circular makes no mention of the drive at that price either.

Good to see another KC person here. I live in Shawnee off Quivera, so that's the closest one to me as well. Thanks for saving me the trouble of the call!!!

Of course, given I've got two WD2000JB drives from that Dell deal last week and two WD1200JB's from the Dell deal last November, I didn't really NEED one for myself. A computer I built for a friend, however, appears to have a bad HD (maxtor 40 Gig) and they don't want to have the system down while waiting for a warranty replacement.

I can confirm that the WD120GB SE drive is $79.99 (NO rebate) at BB where there is a CC nearby. BB is doing a CPM (competitive PM) against CC's after rebate price on this HD. BB's price is only good if you have a BB and a CC near each other. Some folks were able to do the CC PM against BB's low price during the past several weeks due to all of the WD HD sales. This is what voodoo3 is telling you.

If you want to get in on this deal just go to BB and ask them for a price ticket from the register then go to nearby CC and use the BB price ticket to PM down to the price OP is talking about.

I already posted my story in FW's post about this, but yeah I can also confirm if there's a BB and CC near you then BB should have the drive for 79.99$ out the door. My BB opens at 11, i'm like the 8th person in the store besides employees, as I approach the HD section I see some f4g and his f4g wife pulling 4 of them off of the shelves. I was pretty mad, but I was like hey maybe there's one more! Of course there's not. I follow the guy to the cashier, then just walk out the store. As i'm sitting in the car moping, I see his wife come out of the store with 2 bags full of WD HD's, and I was ready to follow her and crash into their car... pieces of fvcking sh!t. Next time someone does that to me i'm going to kick their ass. Fvcking greedy assholes

I was justing thinking the same thing today. Seems like Western Digital is blowing out HDs like crazy. Seagate retail HDs are sucking wind. I saw a Seagate 40GB HD at BB for $100. They won't last long in the retail environment with those high prices.

I just did this on Friday for the 80MB WD drive...

I went to BB near me and 1) 80MB drives were sold out and 2) the price tag showed $139 - $70 rebate. But I went the CC right near it and they had 4 of them, so I showed them the scanned BB shelf tag showing $69.95 for the drive and the CSR PM'd it 110%. I got the drive out the door for $65.99 + tax. She also gave me the rebates and gave me my scanned print out of BB tag back hehe. $65-$10-$30

And now I see this deal, so I call BB and the guy said they dont have 120 WD's which most likely means its sold out. But the deal is legit if you can show CC the BB price. I used a scanned copy of the BB shelf tag and she PM'd it with that, she didnt even call BB to see 1) if they had any in stock(which they didnt) or 2) if they still had that price of 69.99 out the door(which the didnt the price they had when i went showed rebates hehe). So this is deal depends on YMMV and the CSR at CC. Im gonna go to bestbuy and see if the price is 79.99 out the door and then bring a price verification sheet to CC and see if they will PM it, hopefully they wont call BB to see if they have any instock.
