If ANY of you who got in on this deal can at least post a ticket number so those of us who work there can reprint the ticket, get it scanned so everybody can get in on this deal we would alll appreciate it. =)

IOW, near the top of each receipt is a 12 digit number under the heading "Ticket", which is below the Date and Time. If you either PM me or post that ticket number so I can get a reprint, and use that to show proof of this deal, AND I can scan it in so others can make good on this deal, we would all appreciate it.

Better yet would also be a scan of the BB tag showing the price, but I cant offer any help there (and if you could scan it in you woudln't need help scanning in the CC Receipt now would ya !)

Just checked this (went to the store, looked on the shelf, no $79.99 price) at the Shingle Creek Best Buy (Brooklyn Center, MN) and they said the $79.99 was a price mistake and it was corrected earlier in the AM when another customer came in and tried to get one.

bought it at Best Buy for $79.99, went to CC and tried to PM with my receipt. Store manager was a real prick who couldn't produce a written version of their PM policy and insisted that it only applied to the "bottom-line price". That's what he kept saying over and over, it's the bottom line, man! Anyway, I guess my mistake was not buying it at CC first, as several people apparently did successfully. So now I have to go back or to another of the several CCs in the area and try again. The one I got at Best Buy was their last in stock.

BestBuy does this kind of competitive price match almost every week. This is the third or fourth time they have done it to CC. I guess their main competitor is CC so they are trying to drive them out of business. I got in on the WD 80gig special edition for 10 less than this one. Thought that was a good deal, and not really in the mood to return my 80 so not gonna get in on this deal. But if you go to BestBuy on the first day of the deal, you should be able to get it.

Confirmed in Chicago area. What I did was go to BB and buy the drive because it was the last one in stock -- that way I had the actual receipt from BB for CC to price match, instead of having them call BB and it possibly not being in stock by then. They did price match the full 110%, but after checkout, refused to give me the rebate forms. The guy said, you can have the price match or the rebates -- one or the other but not both. But that's okay -- I got the rebate forms from CC's website.

I gave my friend the Best Buy receipt an hour latter and they told him that their rebates match the price at Best Buy. He told them he would rather have the full pricematch. The manager said fine but he would keep the upc code.

Took some work but got it to work at the CC in Houston near the Galleria. Went to CC first, bought the drive at full price. Went to BB and bought the drive for their price ($79.99). Went back to CC with receipt they at first told me no because the after-rebate price is the same. I told them to keep the rebate forms and give me the price match. Manager didn't look happy but did it.

Since I have the rebate receipts CC printed for me showing the regular price of $179.99 I don't think I'll have a problem getting the rebates.

I've never tried a deal with this much engineering before...but...

I went to BB (Chico CA). They had one drive left, open box. The chick at the register almost gave it to me for $9.99 (apparently BB had some rebates too) but no luck. I would have been happy with that, but it was open box, so I went to CC. They, after a little looking at it, PMed it, with the 10%, so I ended up getting two for $150. The only problem is, the rebate didn't print on the reciept! So, hopefully I'll stop by tomorrow (when I go back to return the open box drive at BB) and see if they'll give me the rebate form.

Any suggestions? (and thanks to Voodoo3!)

I stopped at my local BB and they were out of stock. This was only just an hour and 45 minutes after they opened too! I think the employees bought all of them up myself. Anyhow, I ordered the drive on-line for the full $179.00 and selected to pick it up at the store. The confirmation e-mail from BB shows that my total was the in-store price. Later on I got another e-mail stating that the drive was unavailable for pick-up at my selected store and that I should call the 800 number to check availability at other stores or have it sent to me free of shipping charges.

Something to think about...

The rebate form I found for May 4th is for $80. Is there one for $100? And I bought two of the drives...I can't imagine I'm gonna get two rebates. Guess I gotta decide whether it's worth keeping the other one for $75 (gotta love 110% PM).

I guess I'll go back and ask them about the rebates tomorrow.

Total cost is $79.99 - $80MIR + tax on $79.99 = $5.80 (for me, anyway). All try this tomorrow.

Don't bother. I just spent 30 minutes arguing with them about it. They won't match Best Buy's price because they claim they already have with the rebate. After explaining that the best buy price isn't a rebate, they then went into that I would then be getting the drive for free. I told them this wasn't my problem, it was their policy. He said he wouldn't match it. I told them that they don't match rebates the other way, so they shouldn't base their matching on it this way. He still wouldn't budge. Got the manager involved, he still wouldn't budge, and claimed they do price match rebates with a "gift card". Bunch of BS. I drove to the Best Buy on Strang Line and got the last two. I might try Circuit City on Quivera tomorrow.

Just search the cc website for the hd. It'll come up with the other $20 rebate form.

Suspicous about what? We're not doing any scams. WD allready got the money for the drives knowing that they would be giving back a $80 rebate. The $20 is from CC. CC shouldn't complain either, it's their policy.

This has happened in the past so don't be suprised if by Mon. or Tue. BB marks the drive back up and puts out some rebates for it. If you can get a drive at BB, hold on to it for a few days and see what they do.

For those who didn't get the rebates printed out at CC, get them from their website.

I had a CC manager offer to sell it to me at pricematch but without the rebates as well. Will it work if they don't give you the rebates but you download them from the website? I assume so, can't think of any reason why it wouldn't, but it certainly seems sketch. Luckier are ppl who get the CSR to agree right there. Does anyone know CC's PM policy fully -- because at both CC I went to, they were adamant that their policy is about the "bottom-line price", including rebates. Anyone know exactly how full of crap these guys were?

I went to BB and they had none is stock but they did have the shelf tag with the $79.99 price. I asked the sales rep and he said that more drives would be in this week. I explained that I wanted to make sure I got one so he special ordered me one, actually 4.

At $79.99 each without rebate hassle is still a sweet deal....

Same thing happened to me. Right as my turn approaches to ask the CSR to get a 120wd from the cage of hardware, some fkin 50year old prick grabs the first person he sees and asks for the last 2 dam drives. Greedy sob.

I then go to a different BB, and they also were empty on the rack. After waiting in line again, I ask the CSR to see if he can find one from the cage. Luckily they had a few! I took one and went to the checkout. Rings up cha-ching for $80!! Im happy now

I then to go my "favorite' CC. The CSR was some old lady that was kind, but reluctant to give me the pm just cuz there was such a big difference in price. Goes to tak to the manager. Comes back with "yes we can pm, BUT.......... (I was like oh sh1t what is gonna go wrong now) we cannot give you the rebate forms.

I was like WTF??? Why would you care if I am gonna get a rebate or not, its not like the rebate comes directly from the store purchased at and its not an INSTANT rebate either, make ing the store loose money on it. I even then talked to the @sshole of a manager, and he said that "we either give you the rebates on the regular price (which would happen with any customer) or price match to BB and give no rebate!?!? Their PM policy says nothing about this.

CAN C.C. DO THIS, OR should I formally write a complaint letter to their District Manager?????????????????

Thanks voodoo3. Snapped up a couple at BB. No luck with CC because of the old "same price after rebate" song and dance. I will have to take back my two 80GB OM $59.00 AR ones that I though was such a good deal 1 hr. before I read about this one. I always forget that this is SOP for BB, PM to CC for one day, then Monday it will be full price again, or $79.00 AR price, the same as CC once it's back in stock.

They didn't give me any forms in the store, but I didn't even think about it. I just went home and printed out the rebates from the web page. I am kind of worried though if they will send the checks, since they ask on the forms to circle the item and the price you paid.

pm'd at CC. Total came to $75. CSR tore up my rebates. Didn't bother arguing b/c there are ways around that. Thanks for the head's up. I suppose I could scan my CC receipt if someone needs a copy.
