..and I repeat, Outpost employees are dolts. I have placed far too many calls to them to try to straighten out ONE SIMPLE PURCHASE. Apparently, the first few employees completely mislead me (one employee referred to her former colleague as "an idiot"). There is no updated rebate form that would cover purchase on 4/15 (which is when they put in my order for the 80GB, despite the fact that I ordered it on 4/10..those fools just put inthe order for the 60gb then).
So today I spoke to Patrick, who told me that I'd have to return the 80GB drive (I haven't opened it yet anyhow) and REORDER yet again, so I could qualify for the newest WD rebate, beginning today. At least he apologized several times for all this hassle.
Well, I just called the AMEX BVG automated status check, and it says they've cut me a check for $73.95. Am I obligated to attempt yet again to purchase this drive from the Outpost--AMEX will see that the drive was returned..but probably a separate dept, no? Any ethical qualm with me keeping the BVG check and cutting my losses with the Outpost? I took advantage of the Dell 120GB drive deal last week, so should have that shortly.
thanks
