Only 29 Easy To Solder Wires

heheheheeh....that's my favorite part of the specs.

Do you have ANY idea how many wires that is???? NO WAY are people going to be able to do this.

Plenty of people have modded PS2's with 20+ wires inside them. This doesn't look to be too hard if you take your time and know how to solder. I don't think I'd recommend novice or beginner solder folks try this, but if regularly work on electronics it's not too bad. I'm probably going to order in the next month or two.

And how many of us here actually solder things on a regular basis? An appendix is easy to take out for a surgeon because he does it all the time....but most of us aren't surgeons.

<<can't you just go to import game shops(mostly asian) and have em do it? costs a little more, but atleast theyt know what they are doing its been like that for ps1 etc >>

actually i think those asian stores are either too scared or unable to mod the more recent systems. both of the places that used to mod ps1s now don't mod ps2 and claim they never modded ps1!

gamecube was "hacked" weeks ago. check the videos. One guy simply took his cube apart and is using full size, burnt dvds to play games with. there's no protection on a gamecube disc other than it's size. no mod chip needed. >>

those videos don't really prove anything. even though the first one showed the gamecube's wires running into the input of the front of the TV, he could have another gamecube connected to the backside. plus how was he able to extract the data from the GC media to put it onto DVD-R?

Looking at the diagram it doesn't seem so bad, the solder points aren't all tiny. I'm by no means an expert solderer. The PSX was forgiving when I messed up and still worked. Then again I don't know how much zoomed in the picture is so I can't say for sure. What the hell if I know I would be buying at least 5 games coming out soon so, it'll be worth it if i screw it up and have to buy a new one.

whee fun OK.. so who wants to mod my xbox for me? (of course if u break it u have to buy me a new one)

Actually, I modded the old PSXs before.. they weren't bad.. once u got up to the 9 series it got more difficult.. so that was a few years ago.. and from those pictures this is going to be one heck of a modchip to install. It's no wonder those asian places won't do it anymore. They don't want to replace your xbox.

So... who wants to install my chip?

Actually.. i still don't have an xbox.. but if someone wants to install the chip for me i'll go buy one right now

did you watch the videos? Rewatch them and notice the controller is plugged into the gamecube running the burnt disc - on that controller he pauses and restarts the game several times

also, if you read my post - I said there is no protection on the gamecube discs (other than their small size) as in you just put it in your dvd drive and copy the tracks straight off the disk - you can do disk to disk copy, etc
