the osama fee is only $2.50, the rest is all the origination/airport/destination/travel fees at all the airports you're gonna hit along the way, more for west coast origination, maybe less for east coast originations.

they should just start calling it "osama overhead" or "al qaeda add-on" or "terrorist tariff" so there's more direct blame instead of just "sept. 11"

This is hot but Tickets must be booked and paid for no later than Feb. 13, 2003.

So you have 2 days to book and pay for your ticket.

This is very hot deal. I went some years ago (Tampa to Gatwick) for $325. I haven't seen many deals like that until now. It's not the best season to see England, but the price can't be beat.

Actually most are direct flights, so this is other taxes and fees as well.

March is fine for England. I have been there many times. A great time to visit. The weather all year round is fairly cool and often rainy. No problems at all.

Man if you can go, freakin go, $300 or so is the cheapest its ever been, American airlines was offering around $400 with a hotel in london not long ago, also March is a great time to go.

by the way, do not rent a car if your going to stay in london, but if you are going to travel the countryside, definitly do, they are cheap, except for fuel, and driving on the other side of the road isn't as hard as it sounds.

I've lived here in London for the past 2 years and I'd agree that it's cool and rainy in March. I wouldn't say it's a "great" time to visit, but it starts warming up. The rain is the big pain in the a**. Just want to set expectations...

But for this price, I'm telling all my friends to come and visit. Once in London, you can also cheaply hop elsewhere in Europe(RyanAir/Buzz, EasyJet).

You can earn miles with AA as well.

The Central Line is screwed for a while(engine fell off) and the congestion charges(5GBP/day to drive in central London) are starting soon. So be ready for lines or bring that extra cash to get around.

would ya be willing to house a fellow Anandtech brotha up if I were to come overseas?

I completely know nothing about anything overseas. I've never been outside the U.S. and this would seem like the perfect time to go.

What exactly do u mean by "Cool Stuff", Is there something u know abt London that we are not aware of?

Just to be more specific here's a link to the average temps in London in March. I don't know if I would call it a "Great Time" to visit looking at the stats. Link

I think the reduced fares are because of "heightened security", the deployment of armed gaurds at airports and that they were even considering closing Heathrow. Here's the story
Warning of Britain's own September 11

I don't advocate hiding in a hole, just wanted to alert people that there's always a reason/motive for discounts and sales.

What motive? You can buy ticket for travel Nov. 1 through Dec. 15, 2003, That's not even anywhere close to Sep 11.

I went a couple of years ago through a Student travel service for about $380 r/t from SF. About the same time too...wet, cold, some hint of sun. So does fly by 3/31 mean you have to COMPLETE your travel? or you must start your trip by then?
