Hotmail has been blocking gmail invitations. How's that for a lawsuit?

Really? I got a Gmail invite and I use hotmail
I've rolled through >1000 invites now and the only people who don't receive their invites are @hotmail.

Why is there so much hate for hotmail? I use it in conjunction with msn messenger and I know exactly when I get an email and have 2-click access to my inbox.

waht do you mean?

They filter out gmail invitations and move it to junk mail folder apparently. If I didn't check in my junk mail folder, I wouldn't have found the invitation.

I did no such thing as putting a filter to block out emails coming from gmail domain. Isn't it amazing how all the junk mails that supposed to be blocked came through but those that aren't get blocked?

I won't say hotmail is great...but it's free, & they have filters for spam that work fine for me*

That being said, i still like my new gmail account & a few other email accounts i have better.

*not saying this is typical, but it works great for me.

To be perfectly honest, the *one* thing that irks me the most about Hotmail (besides the fact that you get tons of spam, they change the interface twice a week, they redirect you to msn.com when you sign out, and you get "the server is too busy" messages), is the fact that they screw up your links to put their STUPID banner at the top. Did you click on a link that required cookies/secure http? TOO BAD, not only is the &^&#$^ unkillable frame at the top, it breaks cookies and secure http. The only way to get them working again is to copy the link, paste it into a new windows, and delete half the address to remove the hotmail crap. WHY?

I really wish I could lose the hotmail account, but I get some newsletters that I need...and I'm too lazy to open a new account just for those. I already have 4 email addresses I check regularly...

I hate that link crap and posted a whiny thread here about that once - nobody felt sorry for me. Who knows what kind of crap they're tracking by doing that... Not to mention that it doesn't serve any purpose - you can't even get back to your inbox using that top banner. An absolutely worthless feature, though I suspect there's some benefit on their end.

Another plus is I can synchronize my hotmail account to Outlook express.

Only downside is the ridiculous 2 megabyte cap.

Same here. I get more spam on my SBC Yahoo account that I pay for every month than my free Hotmail account.

My biggest grip with the 2MB limit of hotmail is that it causes me to have to delete spam constantly. What's the point of having ajunk mail folder if you have to constantly manually delete the files from there in order so that your inbox won't get full.

After using gmail for the past couple of weeks, using hotmail feels like standing in the middle of Times Square. Big-flashy-ads-EVERYWHERE.

They need to clean up their interface or they are dead.

i had sent them a feedback email basically mocking their 2MB service and how they're way behind competition, and how shocked i was at their pricing scheme for upgrading storage capacity- saying that the pricing was something i would've expected in 1980 when storage was still expensive. wasn't expecting a response, just wanted to send a hate mail.

got a response, very nice one surprisingly. they said they can't tell me what their upgrade plans are, but keep an eye out cause they're making changes in the very near future...

maybe giving us 3MB and removing the junk mail filter? whopee!!

(i hate hotmail.)

i keep my junk filter to exclusive- only address book people. if i turn it off for an hour i get anywhere from 300-400 junk mails in that one hour.
