Nah - they'll probably offer the same to new accounts (that is, the 250) so as to discourage what you just said.

Hey buddy. Its not that google would create / reserve 1GB space for every user. No matter how much they offer, I hope only 1 out of 10 would use more than 100mb / year. Means that in 1 Gbis being shared by min of 10+users.

Based on the # of users, you may be right to some extent, however I don't see why the point why everyone would use the internet mail accont more or less like a HDD storing mails.

Thanks!! Yahoo is the first and still the only email service I use. Don't think I'll ever try hotmail or Gmail. I'm sure Yahoo will follow and increase their inbox space over time.

Yahoo already increased it by 100MB. Hotmail on the other hand said they would increase it, but hasn't done anything yet. I wanted to kick them in the nuts when I got an email yesterday saying I have reached my limit when I received over 2MB of spams.

Actually - if you use Spybot - Search and Destroy - you'll know that Hotmail sends out an Avenue.com spyware and also another one (forgot the name) - so they probably find some sort of commission off offsite visits.

MS is probably worried that all the 250mbs will be filled up b/c even if you dont use up the space yourself, your box will probably get filled up completely w/ spam in no time at all.
