Wow! Now they have a quarter the space of gmail, way more flashy/invasive ads, AND lack Gmail's awesome features + clean interface!

At least things are getting better for those sticking with Hotmail thanks to Gmail. They benefit indirectly, heh.

i also hate the fact that if you only use hotmail as a junk account and dont check it for a while they delete the account..

Yup. Makes procrastinators like me happy. I can wait longer to clean out my spam before it gets full.

the fact is, you can use outlook/outlook express to check hotmail, that makes a huge difference compare to gmail/yahoo, more than the difference of 250mb to 1gb.
and if you are a msn messenger user, nothing is better than a instant notice when u got new email.

Too late hotmail. Gmail has too many nice features to make me keep using my hotmail account. its good for signing up to the spam lists though.

very true. hotmail is still very convenient with the pop mail. when you have multiple email accounts (school, work, regular), you don't want to have to log in to three different sites. i'm using gmail for storage.

Hotmail erases your mail if you don't log in for 30 days.

This is a huge deal -- there being a chance for you to loose all your stuff.

Yahoo never does this, is more user friendly, has less spam (I got dirty spam after activating a hotmail account, never using it or giving it out or posting it anywhere and opting out of all possible HotMail options thereby proving that Microsoft itself had something to do with all the spam I got!!), anyway, so why have so many people been chosing Hot Mail over Yahoo all this time??

true-er hotmail is geat to serve as a destination place for email forwarding. i forward my multiple personal email accounts to hotmail, so i never have to reveal my hotmail addr to internet, and never had spam probelm with hotmail. now with 250mb, it i also good for short-term archiving.
people using browsers to check emails dont know what they missed.

It's about time hotmail got with the program. I've often had people send me attachments that are around 2mb, so if you have anything in your inbox you can't recieve them. Also yahoo always gave a warning that you are over the limit but will still accept new messages, whereas hotmail will just bounce your emails.

I've never had that problem, so maybe somebody had the account previously? Since hotmail deletes accounts after 30 days..

It's nice for me cuz I paid $9.95 for hotmails old "premium" service a couple months back (10mb space). Now, I am getting a free upgrade to 2 GB of email storage and 20MB attachments for no extra cost!!!!
