I've got a Gmail account; I nonetheless still want my Hotmail accounts to be upgraded.

I'm curious how hotmail is deciding what order to upgrade in. My newest accout that i use for junk is up to 250 as of last week, but my oldest account is still at 2mb. I just switched to gmail, but i to still want my hotmail account upgraded.

I got my 250 megs last week. The spam filter suddenly works great. I think they did not want my inbox filling up as fast since the size is much larger.

The only problem I am having, is when clicking on a link in an email, I get the message that my account has been idle too long, close window and refresh browser.... I get this message seconds after logging in, or after refreshing... Anyone else have this problem? Tried in both Opera and Firefox...

yep, me too. It's great to have the extra space though

Seems to work with IE though... :|... hope this isn't some kind of MS ploy to limit other browser functionality...

Can someone tell me exactly how to connect to Hotmail through Outlook Express? I have followed the directions in Outlook but when I try to connect I always get a "service unavailable" message. Also, how can Hotmail make money if Outlook is used since none of the ads supporting the service are seen?

MS decided it would be a nice feature to stop allowing free accounts access through outlook. They said something about it being a security issue, but they just want you to upgrade to a pay account. Bleh...

That's what I'm wondering. I've had the account since 1997, which might have something to do with it, or the fact I've used it as my Microsoft "Gateway" ID for a number of things, including developer activities.

Dunno... just that it stopped complaining every week when I failed to visit the hotmail website to clear out the junk folder as things got too full.
