Sorry in advance if this is not the right place for this....

I am interested in buying just ONE of these swithes. Would anyone else who is interested in just ONE be interested in splitting the cost with me? This is a great price for a rack-mountable 16 port switch, and if I'm not mistaken it is the same switch that Anandtech uses for their colocated servers (refer to their recent server upgrade article for pictures). Please private message me if you're interested and we can work something out.

By the way, I've bought some software from FirstSource in the past and they actually had a customer service representative call me to verify licensing issues. Good service, and no problems with them.

Edit: Apparently I can't count, and the switch that Anandtech uses is an SMC 24 port model, but this is still an excellent switch at a great price.

Check out the pic on the link. It shows the 16 port switch with an 8 port sitting on top of it. Maybe you buy the 16 port and get an 8 port for free. Can someone call and check to be sure? I would but i'm at work.

Ok, i'm sold on the one at buy.com.
my question now is with tax included that put's it at $300. Does that mean you can use to of the coupons for $30 of $150? That would be cool.

PC_Freak, does buy.com charge tax in your state? I am in CA and I know that they will charge tax. Same with FirstSource. And no, > 1 coupon does not work at buy.com. I have no idea how ebates works. Anyone?

You're welcome on the buy.com link. I was going through their rebates the other day and noticed it. Thought it was a great deal on something I have absolutely no need for, so I thought I'd share.

Ebates is a money-back shopping thing. You have to visit the site ebates.com. Register for an account, and they spam you and such and give you a free e-mail account. But anyways, you make purchases at different stores by going to the ebates site, then clicking through to the various stores. A lot of big name e-tailers there. Anyways, for everything you buy at those stores by clicking through ebates, you get a percent back of your purchase. It's sent as a check, every three months.

Anyways, the tricky part is using a coupon. Open a browser, find that buy.com coupon, click it and make sure it's in your basket. Then, open another browser window, click to ebates, click to buy.com and the coupon should still be there. Buy away as per normal.

Buy.com is currently only two percent right now, so it's a hell of a lot of work to earn $6 or so. That's why I quit using ebates, myself. Just thought other people might be using it...

I have ordered from First Source. I didn't find their way of doing business acceptable.
IF they ship a product and then lower the price the next day, they wont credit your acct
for the diff. Restocking fees are high. On the other hand, if you are sent damaged items,
they are quick to replace. Tough call, I would try to get a better price elsewhere

You might want to shop around a little. I found two vendors that almost matched that price without two for one. Buy.com with the $30 off is a little cheaper but if you don't need two switches?

Actually if you check on Pricewatch.com, there are vendors selling it for $139.00, so I doubt you would get more than $100 on *-bay for one of them...
