DEAL DIED MARCH 2003... stop signing up

(IMPROVED from first post)
See the 6th post down

$150

I saw the $75/$100 thread the other day and did some more digging... I found a $150 code (requires $2500.00 deposit)

Also did some research at other deal websites and found that when done correctly, most people got their money within 2.5 months and closed their accounts after 3 months ($9.00 fee if you close it before 90 days is up).

So, doing the math:

You can make 6% on your money in 90 days... In today's economy, that is good $$$

*also, I found that one can input random codes and find a match... though, I have yet to figure out a way to get a description of said codes... perhaps someone smarter than myself can figure it out and PM me a method... who knows, maybe they have $200.00 codes tucked away*

From what I can tell, most people that have tried for more than one (over time) have not been denied. One man purports to have done the deal 6 times!

In support of CitiGroup I've been a CitiBank cc holder since 1994 (almost 10 years) and have paid THOUSANDS of dollars in interest = job security for YOU!

Yes... I really want to use them now for some of my banking needs, but I want to find the best offer before I dive in hehe! I wish there was some way to run the coupons through the system and figure out which is the best one hehe

Who knows, maybe they have a $500 bonus for 10k in the account

Here's a tip: no one will ever know that you've had a lobotomy if you wear a wig to hide to the scars.

That is the ONLY way to work this deal.

What interest rate do they offer?

How do you sign up? The last link (provided by JOnBrown is just to a pop up ad...I couldn't get anywhere from there).

Use the link in the original post. When the application prompts you for your offer code, change the pre-populated input box offer code from "CG44" to "CGA."

BTW, there's 1 other small "catch" with these offers: You MUST perform 2 on-line bill payments within the first 60 days. To avoid monthly fees, your account balance has to be at or above the minimum balance amount (i.e. $1500). Thus, if you're going to go through with this, I recommend populating your account with slightly more than the minimum amount (i.e. perhaps $1600 instead of $1500) so you have $100 to use towards paying 2 bills.

It says:
A $1,500 average combined
balance across linked accounts
to avoid a monthly fee. In CA
and NV, Direct Deposit will
avoid fee.

I am in CA. Does that mean I can open up an account with $1500, pay 2 bills, put 1 direct deposit, withdraw all but $0.01 from the account and still be valid for the $150 bonus?

Sounds like the $150 for $1500 might work as long as you change the offer code, hot damn!

Well I gave it a shot using the CGA code.

There wasn't any mention after entering the code about the $150 offer. I assume that the terms are the same as for the CG44 code? Anyone know?

The account bears no interests.

The previous CitiBank deals I have always funded it electronically or mailing in a check.

During the application process it asks you how you want to fund the account. Your choices are:
a) Mail in a check
b) Direct debit your new Citibank account from an existing account.

At the end of the on-line application process you anyway have to print out a "Citibank Online Signature Sheet", sign it and mail it to them. If you choose to fund your account by mailing in a check, include the check w/ your Signature Sheet when mailing that in.

I recommend nobody choose Direct Debit. As was already pointed out, the on-line application is extremely intrusive in nature (but then again, I opened up another bank account less than 6 months ago and they were equally as intrusive). No need to give Citibank direct access to one of your non-citibank checking/bank accounts.
