HOTTER: $150 for opening a CitiBank Account (IMPROVED from first post)

Citibank is giving me a hard time about the $150. credit. I followed all the rules.

Luckily I printed my application that states the offer with no dates and the details of the CGA promotion $150 on 1500 after 2 bill on-line.

I will be hard on them until I receive the credit as I have something that shows what I was to receive.

Called in once again to close out the account, was told it will take a week to do so, plus 5 more days for the check to arrive by mail.

All I can say is, if you haven't try this deal, STOP. Read this thread and think through if it's worth the risk and hassle.

i didnt receive $150

so i called them.

they had it go thru some online investigation team.

received a letter today , it says "unfortunately, the two required bill payments were not made from your account within the sixty-day time frame.."

but i've made 4 online payments within a month of creating that account..

so i called them.

they said i had to pay using CITIBANK online payment system and not just make payments online with citibank checking account.

hmmm.. well this is most likely my fault but from opening citibank was a big hassle, ill go ahead and close it.. unless i can get $150

All these opening and closing of accounts--you'd think there'd be some grave reprocussions to your credit rating.... same applies especially for credit cards that offer you measley rewards like $30 towards your next purchase. Act now, pay later when you start applying for loans for things like maybe a ... house/car?

on Oct. 22nd my 3 months was up from 2 bill pays and I had not received my $150 for my $1500 deposit. I sent an email via their email system and received a response that they would investigate. Today I logged into my account and found my $150 bucks. In the email I sent them I made sure to tell them I had emails and printouts of all the account details, maybe that swayed them into depsoiting the money?

Well folks Citi did indeed give me the run around also. I printed everything out during the application and with a couple of phone calls and persistence I got my $150. Closed the account and will likely do it again. This is free money as far as I am concerned.

I just reapplied using code CC22. I printed the application that says I used CC22 and I printed the terms and conditions of the promotion code. There is nothing in there that would exclude anyone from this offer as long as the rules are followed as Citi has laid them out. Citi has gone thru great lengths to make sure there A&T customers are happy.
