I don't understand why people aren't more into this deal? Granted some of you MUST have the best of everything and have the top-o-the-line speakers, but $15 or under for this is a fantastic deal.
Oh well...guess I'll go buy another set as a gift for my buddy.

I went to 2 diff locations of staples and bought speakers and the keyboard in another post. THe managers dropped their jaws when they saw the pricematch.

First place did not honor the $10 off $40 but the second had not so bright person that did.

Don't forget that the rebate is not a gurantee, if your receipt shows pricematch and coupon adding, you have a significant chance of not getting your rebate.

got a set and the rear channel wire from the front speaker does not work. no rear sound today. I'll have to see if there are any still available for exchange tomorrow. :disgust:

sure did, may be an issue with my soundcard (x gamer 5.1) because the second set of speakers is still having the same issue. This is with the new Creative drivers and software

just picked up a set at the Linden, NJ Staples - the csr at 8003staple claimed to have 3 there, i went 2 hours later and only saw one on the shelves. the other 2 may be in the back, or AT + FW effect is slamming staples like a tsunami.

Staples has them for $79.98, item number 471307. PM to OfficeMax.com and on top of that there is a Rebate.

ATTENTION: On the rebate form, it states that the rebate offer NOT valid at Best Buy, Circuit City, COMP USA, Fry's, Micro Center, Office Depot, Office Max, and Wal-Mart, so if you decide to do your own PM or buy form a diff. store, don't get it at these places.

ALSO: At FW they are saying that it could be $17, but the only coupon I found was $10 off $50 which wouldn't work because the PM value would be lower and comes out to the same.

I have tried two different sets of speakers (they were from the same Staples location) with the same results:

No rear channel.

I have used an independent pair of speakers as rear channels and they worked so I imagine it is the rear channel cable or the rear channel connections in the subwoofer.

I just picked up a third set of speakers and a new SB 5.1 to verify what is or is not working.

I am having the exact same problem with these speakers! NO REAR OUTPUT - but i swap the black line with another set of powered up speakers and it works fine!!! what gives, it sucks with no rear channel.

i hear the low staticky noise which means they are getting power, but no software config will make any sound come out of them... ARGH!

I have tried 3 new sets of z-540s with 2 SB Live cards (SB 5.1 & X-Gamer) situated in various pci slots and still continue to have the same issue of no rear sound.

Please test your speakers to make sure they work...

back two speakers do not work.

on the subwoofer there are connections for all 4 satellites. i inverted the connection between front left satellite, and rear left satellite.

now i have audio in my front right, and back left.

why does the subwoofer insist on only juicing two satellites?

not only am i hearing things dizzy, I am extremely confused as to why this is happening... it just doesn't make sense!

to those experiencing similar problems, turn off M3D using your satellite speaker's M3D button. turned on resulted in no rear audio.

i've connected the logitech z540s in the standard 4 speaker configuration. but i set my system to give me a 6.1 output, and my center channel is powered by a 2.1 altec lansing system which i originally had.

the old lansing sub doesn't throw out any bass, but the 2 satellites double as a center. the hotness.

any ideas on how to get the sub working; hit me a PM

There's a couple of others out there who rebate/thread crap occasionally, but most of the time it's somebody who's been posting for a month or two. Speakers work as they are supposed to for me.
Front, rear and sub, no issues. Good surround sound.

Ppl have problems with everything you know.
And if someone managed to try another set
with the same no rear channel issue
I can guarantee its something else, not two
defective sets in a row.
