Or maybe

But I do like the Porsche. It looks...sleek. Especially with that long bonnet.

Plus, I'm pretty sure dynamics will be unmatched by any of the other contenders in the segment.

That sedan looks like it's been in an accident. The trunk got pushed out a little and there's jagged metal scattered all over the place.

I will translate for myself: It's not a wagon and it's ugly.

Christ, Cadillac, cool it with the sharp lines. We get it; that's your thing. Bring it down a notch.

Love the V70R

Any members ever own one?

I dunno but I've driven plenty (the S60's are more common, of course). It's definitely not a bad car, depending on what kind of price they fetch nowadays. The suspension in 'sport' mode was quite capable without being overly harsh. The lighter FWD T5 cars felt at least as fast (if not faster) to me, though. The AWD is rather useless other than avoiding minor wheelspin on a hard take-off. The cable shifters on the manuals were kind of poop, also.

The new(er) V70's are pretty attractive, too, imo, and it's a better platform. but I don't think there's any real 'performance' package out there.

Yeah, the CTS-V Wagon is a wagon, and it's better looking than any other posted in this thread, and a great deal faster too.

While it may be more accurate to refer to it as a shooting-brake, it still falls within the specs of a station wagon.

None of those are wagons.

This is a wagon. It can literally cruise the vista.

I'm sorry, are people saying the above is sexy?....i dont understand?

No. We're saying it's hot. That can mean a lot of things. I like the way it looks, but what I like more is that it does 0-60 in 4 secs flat and can go round the Nurburgring faster than an Audi R8 V8. That's hot.

My shit could do the Nurburgring faster if I strapped a rocket to it.

It's still not 'hot,' aside from being a burning turd.

Re: your above picture...I liked their earlier concept.

I know I'm a hateful fuck and all, but just for the sake of argument concerning what should be called a 'wagon,' so far as wagon-lovers are concerned...I spent about five minutes making comparison shots.

The V70 ('second gen,' I guess; the first is an 850, the third is a newer S80): arguably one of the more square, traditional wagons....but still not exactly huge, and no, it's no Cruiser of the Vistas. S60 of same vintage (pretty much the same car) for comparison...note how both cars have pretty much the same front end, but from behind the front doors there are some pretty big differences.

And here are the CTS sedan and wagon. One is a sedan with a high trunk. The other is a sedan with a high trunk that appears to have an inflamed hemorrhoid.

I just can't call that a wagon. And I certainly can't call it attractive; I don't really give a crap how fast it is. If that was the case, I wouldn't even mention the wagon, and just say that the CTS is a really well-performing ugly sedan (I mean, ignore the front and the back and I guess it looks okay).

you're doin' it wrong.

so are you!

hehe

i dont think the new panamera is ugly, but im not a fan of it totally. i dont think its a real wagon, so far that volvo and the subaru legacy (STi lol) are the better wagons in this thread. the new "wagon" style is definitely not an actual wagon, its somewhere between a CUV and a sedan. not that its a bad thing, but it doesnt really seem to keep the utility of a real wagon. and i bet the one i posted would take any of them in a straight line.

The STI is real! Just not in the US.
