They are back up!!! In the process of ordering one now. I just wish my one-time use Amex number would come up faster!

Those who ordered before, what shape did your board come in? Did the cables come with it?

I read on another board that there is a problem with the chipset fan. It tends to go out within 30 days. I just wonder why all the refurbs.

Be careful with this board, I have one in my new system and 2 of my 4 ram slots have gone bad, I have read a lot of posts in the motherboard forum discussing this issue and others. I'd have RMA'd it to newegg but I have 2 x 512MB chips so won't be needing the other 2 slots.

But......If you get a good one then the price is right

the ECs is 2$ cheaper... and it is not 100 times worse, not by a long shot..... The performance difference is truly negligible, and putting up with a VIA chipset isnt worth it..

I just got one of these boards and its rock solid. This is my second Via Chipset motherboard and I havn't encountered any problems what so ever. Great board.

WOW! I ordered mine on Tuesday, it shipped on Wednesday, and is at my doorstep in Maryland right now! I can't wait to get home and check it out. My new XP 1600+ will be here on Monday.

Went to the site, and the product wasnt' there, so I say the deal is dead.

On another note, I have this board, and it is awesome. I am overclocked at 1533 with no problems what-so-ever. However, there is a catch. You MUST have revision 3.1. Anything less than 3.0 has the KT266 chipset (slow), while the 3.0 and 3.1 have KT266A (fast). The "A" chipset is the fastest chipset for Athlons so far... as per a number of overclocking boards and Tom's Hardware Guide.

This mobo is awesome and has these cool features:

2 usb ports onboard, with option to add 4 more using USB headers, to make 6 ports (without hub).
Both IDE channels are ATA100... some mobo's only have IDE0 as 100, and the other as 66.
Wake on Lan (WOL) function
able to take 4 sticks of DDR ram for up to 4 GB (not that you would ever need that much)

I had another Shuttle product (HOT557) and it was good for overclocking as well as being stable.

got my order couple days ago.....It came in the original box....with manual, CD, cable(1 ATA, 1 Floppy)......not bad for the price.....now...i need to find some cheep DDR.....anyidea???

by the way...just check out newegg's refurbised site....they got some LiteOn burners for fair price, and IBM HD....check it out...

I just got done putting the Shuttle in and am now posting from it! Wooohoooo!

I had problems at first getting the thing to post. I cleared the CMOS and got it to boot with only the video card. Flashed to the lastest bios (link found in my previous post to this thread), rebooted and attempted to load Win Me. No sense in screwing my XP installation first while I worked out the bugs. Got into WinMe and ran Sisoft Sandra. My memory scores went from ~740 (on an IWILL KK266 KT133A) to 1421! YES!!! Gotta love that DDR! Mine is from the Best Buy sale back in December. Now to tweak and run prime95 and Sisoft Burn-In Wizard. This should be fun.

Clearing the CMOS can be tricky and I finally did it with a screwdriver.

I think mine was returned for a faulty Northbridge fan. The fan on the picture on Shuttle's website shows one with an Aavid sticker and on other forums people are always complaining about how quickly they fail. My fan looks new, but who knows. The box came with a floppy and ide cable, driver CD, and the manual. Mine was version 2, not the current 3.1. Oh well. I works great so far. Now to stress it.

Got mine yesterday, and while installing the ram, noticed a burn mark , where one of the tiny chips or resistors had gotten very hot- the little chip is actually loose on the board. I don`t want to take a chance damaging my Crucial DDR, or my XP1600, so I`m RMAing it.

Jeez... I saw this thread and felt compelled to write this. I've ordered a bunch of "refurbished" stuff from newegg. I'm not really sure that you can call it refurbished at all. All the video cards and drives that I've ordered have been fine, but out of 3 motherboards all 3 of them had something wrong with them... some more serious than others. So, my advice... unless you have a real fun time with RMAs... just stay away from their refurb motherboards... I'm 3 for 3 and it gets a little old after a while.

Makes me wonder how they can get away w/ calling these "refurb" at all.. obviously no work has been done to them at all. These must be self-refurbs... w/ a guy standing over them waving his hand and chanting "Motherboards... heal thyselves"...
