so some a-hole(s) thought it would be funny to egg my house. :\ i called the police and they think its just some kids pulling pranks before school starts. other houses have been hit too, so its nothing against me i think. luckily the cop didnt mistake my phone for a gun and shoot me dead. that wouldve made the situation worse.

anyhoo, i cannot seem to get egg residue off the siding and garage. i tried bleach, windex, tire/wheel cleaner, and scrubbing bubbles. no luck. any kind of anti-protein cleaner u can recommend?

Man... these debt collectors are starting to resort to some pretty childish actions.

You called the police for someone egging your house?

and? i pay taxes. cant have them sitting around and playing sudoku all day. plus, i thought it was racially motivated at first. the thought of it being a prank never crossed my mind. time to install cameras outside again.

The reason the egg sticks is the denatured proteins have reactive thiol groups that will bond to the surface of your house. Washing in an alkaline environment (bleach) will only increase the rate of reaction, though it may make it smell less. You want to scrub the surface with a mix of vinegar and water. It may still take a while to wash it off, though, if it has already dried out.

Edit: The above is actually bad advice. As pointed out here, acid will protonate the carboxylic acid residues and cause the egg to coagulate. Not good.
