did you even read the article? how is what Murtha doing helping the poor?

Assuming all of that's true
  • Did anything any Democrat's "rich buddy" did directly cause the death of 3,699 Americian troops?

  • Did anything Murtha did directly cause the death of 3,699 Americian troops?
If not, the statement in your topic summary, "never EVER claim that Democrats and Republicans are any different." is blatant bullshit!

The dems are just as likely to pump up defense department contracts to help their RICH RICH RICH supporters, if you believe otherwise your a fool

Can you say Haliburton, boys and girls?

Additionally, the Republican agenda is almost entirely driven by ideology and faith which take precedence over reality and facts almost every time.
Given that, I'll stick with the Democrats.

And yet, Americans trust the Democrats a lot more on bread and butter issues that effect the middle class.

You can be in denial all you want, the more rightwingers are in denial, the longer they'll be in a minority.

You forgot to add that Republicans eat babies...

Talk about being blinded.... sheesh.

Right, so basically you got nothing, so you are building a strawman. Good luck with that.

Uhhh There is no need to deconstruct your post as it should be plainly obvious to anyone without their leftist blinders on that you only see what you want to see(or believe it because you've been told so by your leaders).

Keep on being blind if you wish...

It's not that there is no need to deconstruct my post, it's that your limited logical ability leaves you with no way to do so, and hence you feel the need to erect a strawman that is a bit easier for you to handle, the whole cliche "eat babies" line.
Shouldn't you look at the mess that the guy you voted for left behind before you call anyone else blind?
You are the one with the blinders on.

No, he's absolutely correct, your post wreaks of blind partisanship. You should have just said, "Republicans are evil and Democrats are our savior", it sounds just as dumb.

BTW, Democrats are doing a great job with the poor in the inner cities, so please keep repeating that idiotic talking point. Democrats aren't for the poor, they are for themselves, just like Republicans.

You are putting up another strawman. First it was "republicans eat babies," now "Republicans are evil and Democrats are our savior." Why am I not surprised that an average Republican lacks the intellectual capacity to debate without using strawmen?

Same question for you -- Did anything Murtha did directly cause the death of 3,699 Americian troops?

Should we take your silence on the subject to mean you're glad about all those American died and you support squandering more American lives as long as your Traitor In Chief and his corrupt criminal cabal pursue their war of LIES?

Supporting the action against Saddam in Iraq does not mean I'm "glad" about our service people dying and it's rather trollish for you to constantly trot out that line of BS. I guess that BDS really has a grip on you. Get well soon!

Oh, and I see you ignored the oinking. Go figure.

How would he go about that? Term limits would need a constitutional amendment which would have to pass congress before going to the states.

It would never pass Congress nor would it pass state ratification.

Put it this way, a term limit would kill the house of reps. There is such as steep learning curve that two years wouldnt give them much time to do anything let alone get used to how things work in Congress. By their third term they can actually be effective in getting things done.

Put it this way, most congressional aides know more than most Congressmen. The Aides are the ones who read the bills, conduct research, talk to constitutants, and write legislation, as well as suggest what way to vote... A Congressmens life isnt his own. His weekdays are scheduled from 7am to 9pm.

Well I guess it depends on what you want to call corruption. If you're going to call pork and nasty stuff like that corruption (which I would), then actually the Democratic 110th congress is leaps and bounds better then the Republican 109th that preceded it. (then again, the 109th seems to be widely considered possibly the worst congress of all time).

Citizens Against Government Waste keeps a running tally of pork and other waste, and by their estimation the current congress is the least wasteful in more then 6 years. That might not be great, but it's certainly a large improvement.

So, no. They aren't all the same.

Hehe, a little unfair to compare at this point. Let's see what happens when a Dem Pres is elected, along with the Dems controlling both houses of Congress. That's a much better *apples to apples* comparison, a better measure of *self restarint*.

Plus, IMO, the Dem controlled Congress is treading a bit light in anticipation of the upcoming '08 elections. To go beserk with spending right now would be counter-productive and they know it.

Fern

Thats because Congress can't get anything done.

My point flew right over your head, I'm not surprised. I like how you constantly ignore the fact that Dems have completely dropped the ball with our inner cities, promising everything to those people and never delivering. I guess they just count on partisan hacks like yourself to vote for them just because they have a D in front of their name.

BTW - besides Governor, I voted for ONE republican this past election....you also might want to learn the definition of strawman before you start trying to use big words. What I did was called "over exaggeration". In your first post, you basically made republicans look evil and made democrats look like saints that are going to save everyone. Everyone else saw your post like that, so if thats not what you intended to say, then you might want to think about the way that you word things.

Anyways, I'm a little curious, do you admit to being a hardcore partisan?

Dems dropped the ball on inner cities? I grew up in inner city, dirt poor living in my grandma's garage, and made it to an Ivy League school, and I had 1 year of college worth of AP credits going in and graduated with honors in 3 years. They sure didn't drop the ball on my inner city high school. The opportunities were there, and that's all I ask for. Of course a lot of people there were not taking advantage of the opportunities, but the point is that they are there, even in the inner cities, and that's all I want, to give those inner city kids the same opportunities as I had. I became hardcore partisan when Republicans impeached Clinton. Before that I couldn't care less about politics.
