From the article you posted.John Eastman denies he tried to overturn the election with fake electors.
What a sorry excuse of a human being. He denies he tried to overturn the election, and that they were merely trying to understand who the true winner was. What a lying turd. If you were brave enough to do the deed, be brave enough to admit it.
"I want to point out they all say, well, we were using this to overturn the election and undermine the will of the people," he told host Steve Bannon. "No, we we weren't, as you know well, we were trying to understand who the true winner was in order to bolster or enhance the will of the people, [and determine] if there were illegal votes that were cast."
And King Rat just keeps on talking.

Well gee golly. Turns out this was all hog wash. Seems Mike wanted someone else to do the dirty deed. To paraphrase, profiles in courage, not. Here's some more detail that's come out about Pence's decision to follow previous protocol.
Inside Pence-world's preparation for a Jan. 6 legal showdown - POLITICO
His opposition was captured most comprehensively in a memo from Jan. 5, 2021, that is also in the select committee’s possession. That memo from Jacob to Pence describes the former’s fierce disagreements with Eastman, who he came to believe was urging Pence to violate the Electoral Count Act in multiple ways.
That memo, which has not been made public, represented a final rejection of Trump’s pressure campaign, which Pence voiced on Jan. 6. It came after a fierce Jan. 4 debate between Eastman and Pence’s team.

If Gore could stomach certifying the razor-close (and legally-disputed) results of the 2000 election, effectively certifying his own defeat, one would think Pence could have coped with certifying Trump's loss.
Yeah that’s Pence and it was apparent from day one.But as @HomerJS noted, that would require Pence having a spine. And this is someone who wants to be POTUS.
I agree ultimately he did the right thing. The way he handles stuff so spineless is irritating. What sort of Man handles things like he does?Meh - when the chips were down Pence did the right thing and I give him credit for it.
If you want people to do the right thing I think it's best not to shit on them for not doing the right thing rightly enough.
I think he was under enormous pressure, the sort of pressure none of us have ever experienced so I don't know, I'm inclined to cut the guy some slack.Yeah that’s Pence and it was apparent from day one.

Again I agree. Really my point is the former President gets people so riled up they storm the building literally looking for Pence’s head WHILE his wife & children (and possibly grandchild) are there with him you’d think he’d grow some balls bigger than the set he did grow.I think he was under enormous pressure, the sort of pressure none of us have ever experienced so I don't know, I'm inclined to cut the guy some slack.
His behavior for the whole Trump administration was absolutely craven up until that point but credit where credit is due.

Interestingly enough this is similar to Trump’s pitch to Raffensberger - since democrats won’t give you credit for doing the right thing you might as well do the wrong thing and have Republicans still like you.I can't respect someone who was in a moral quandary over doing the correct, and legal, thing, vs doing something illegal so he doesn't upset some cupcake's feels.
