^^^ This ain't your Daddy's SCOTUS. This one has shown they don't care about past rulings, even their own.
You missed the point, it will get the same results the voting fraud cases did. How many of them made it thru the appeals processes and to the SCOTUS? IIRC only 2 cases hit the SCOTUS and they where rejected immediately by the SCOTUS. I believe that for a case to even make it to the appeals courts, there had to be a ruling by the lower courts, and a mistake had to be made. They can't just take it to the appeals court because they don't' agree with the ruling. To get a court ruling, a case has to have grounds to make it to the court. Bannon has no grounds for a lawsuit. He can try, but the case will be thrown out, on that bases.

Another one that needs to be summonsed?

I will never shop at a Publix store ever.

So. They robocalled people to join the Jan6 insurrection. Someone should ask the FCC if robocalling to join an insurrection is legal.

I think you missed the point. He does not need to get to SCOTUS, he does not even need to win. All he needs to do is find a judge willing to pretend he might have a case and let him file motions for the next year and change until the Republicans take the House back when they can just drop the whole thing.

Should have posted this here.
Select Committee just voted to hold Steve Bannon in Criminal Contempt of Congress. No links yet.

Won't matter. Bannon will simply refuse to talk if seated in front of the committee, or take the 5th, or claim some nonsense legal exemption put forth by Trump and Trump's lawyers. Some legal nonsense that will go back to the courts for months/years of litigation and by then Trump will be back in power.
Democrats try to play the game on the straight and narrow while Trump republicans and Trump associates break all the rules leaving democrats holding their pecker in their hand. Going after Bannon is a start, but we'll see how that plays out when it hits Merrick Garland's desk. If we are waiting for a photo of Bannon behind bars or shackled in front of the committee, I wouldn't hold my breath.

The legal system doesn't work that easy. You can't keep filing motion after motion without a case or good cause..

Remember the reporter that refused to answer question when served a subpoena? They sent her to jail.

I'm sure they can find room in the House basement for Pigpen

Just saw the alerts pop up on my phone. Good. Arrest that fucker.

Too bad it has no teeth.

Holding Bannon in criminal contempt through a prosecution could take years, and historically, criminal contempt cases have been derailed by appeals and acquittals.

Years to find someone guilty of contempt for...disobeying a subpoena. YEARS.

This system is a joke.

Of course it does. Not only that, but a friendly judge can just push it back on the docket a few times so that it is a year from when he is charged before he even has to file his first motion. Delaying a case for a year and a half is easy. In fact on average it takes 8 months for a case to go from charges filed to trial, and that is without political pressure or big money influencing it.

Yep, I heard about this before the vote and posted that Bannon can delay this easily until republicans take back the House and stop the investigation, some didn’t believe me.

Not if they assign a special prosecutor if Republicans take the house. They wouldn't be able to stop it. That's why John Durham is still working

Not much. Remember his job is determining if the initial investigation into the Trump campaign was legit.

Methinks it was
Of course, but did he run into any “roadblocks” like any Jan 6 special prosecutor would? Probably not.

"I wanted to go down with the crowd," Trump told Drucker in an interview for Drucker's book, "In Trump's Shadow: The Battle for 2024 and the Future of the GOP," which was published on Tuesday.

"I said I was going to go down with the crowd. But they wouldn't let me go. I think if I did go down there, I would have stopped the people from doing anything bad," Trump added.

Riiiiight, just like how he said he'd run into Parkland High School, even without a weapon, during the shooting? Right?

But let's pretend the orange monkey did share top secret government info with Bannon. Fine and jail Bannon for failing to comply with the subpoena. And then prosecute the orange monkey for treason.
