lol yes make sure the nuts have an easier time winning the primary risking "safe" seats

Even if no actual power comes with it now McCarthy really wants the title.

What the fuck ... I mean. They're stating out loud, tall and proud... that they want to rig their own primaries? Rig the election? The Trump Trump dum-dums wants their primaries fixed?

But if Moscow Mitch and the spineless one got more input on the midterm candidates, it would be the red wave like other midterms. So yup they are screwing themselves for 2024.

Dems should consider getting together with 5 moderate Republicans and nominate Adam Kinzinger

After letting them stew in their own shit for a while

How is the Turtle, "Moscow Mitch", when he is bending over backwards to give billions with no oversight to Ukraine?

Rep Boobers was just on MSNBC with Steph Ruhle to discuss her position. o_0

Guess the invites from Fox news have dried up.

Glad she went on tho. She said she would not support ANYONE from the current leadership including Scalice (sp?) and they are willing to ride this out for a long time.

Still couldn't articulate a realistic exit strategy, but was content to just watch it burn.

This wont be over anytime soon unless GOP gets help from Ds.

I'm still wondering if it'd be a good thing or a bad thing for the Democrats and the nation as a whole if the loonie Freedom Caucus gets ahold of the House leadership either through emasculating McCarthy or having one of their own seize the position.

Probably won't happen although with the GOP in such disarray......

If I recall, Kinzinger is done with the shit show the Republican party has become. Technically, he could still be speaker, but it seems he wants nothing to do with them anymore.

His Party no longer wants anything to do with him.

That is why he is leaving.

KMC already moved into the speakers office. They shouldn't have let him until/if he elected speaker.

Pubs have no consideration for rules.

Kevin McCarthy ALREADY moves into Speaker's office and insists 'we will have a good day tomorrow' | Daily Mail Online

Gaetz sent a letter to the Architect of the Capitol asking about McCarthy being a squatter and to remove him, LOL.

So what, one of their 20 holdouts or 54ish freedumb caucus members should be in charge of the 222 member Republican caucus?

McCarthy is already hard right. He is the compromise candidate already. The idea that the most extreme members should be allowed to dictate things for the whole party is laughable and should be broken right now. I’d like to see a letter from 150+ of the remainder saying they’ll vote for McCarthy for the next two years.

Frankly the party should renounce all 20 holdouts. Fix your shit for the next vote or the only thing we’ll be discussing is what internal sanctions will be levied against you. You want committee chairs? Get fucked. You’ll be irrelevant for the next two years.

Of course, they’re mostly cowards and don’t want to risk losing the stupid party of the base for even one cycle. Until they learn that cancer needs to be excised and not fed they get what they deserve.

Even if that were true, which I doubt...that isn't a hard thing to do these days. All it takes to get booted from the GOP is to have a shred of honesty, integrity, and compassion for other humans. They'll kick you right the fuck out, alright.

That's probably the funniest snippet of this whole debacle so far, IMO. He snowflakes/Karens even among his own, lol.

Gotta love Repubs eating their own. Can't wait to see the House Freedom Caucus turn on each other with each and every one of them being the scum sucking back-stabbing self-centered opportunistic flesh eaters that they are.

Same way Hillary is crooked without ever being charged with a crime
More seriously it has to do with an unusually generous business deal from a Russian mining company in his district.
Also, the future of bread is a thing, the worlds bread basket under Putins control… Just look at the gas and oil and the international geoeconomics in play, the ripples.. and then hold that to the geopolitical climate future we *know* is coming. Someone cynical might say that from a food security perspective alone, Russia cant be allowed to win. If Americans dont think this touches their backyard, it does, Europe has money, it will drive international markets sky high, prices and corn, food, will rocket everywhere.
We probably dont want to give Putin more power levers.

McCarthy doesn’t have the votes.
Scalise doesn’t have the votes.
Biggs doesn’t have the votes.
There’s only one man who can truly unite the Republican Party… Neurosurgeon, Nobel Prize winner, and WWII hero

Speaking of which, since there's no Speaker, who is running the show? I see headlines of McCarthy calling for the votes.
