Seems like thats one that is missing. Seriously though, I'm not too keen on all these different forums, seems like it cheapens anand"TECH" to something along the line of a walmart.

I agree. Feels like Toms Hardware Forums or not really a computer forum here now.

Bah... I wanted a separate food forum! I've seen a few good cooking and restaurant topics in ATOT, but they always get buried with the huge post volume.

Thinking about it, a TV and Movies forum wouldn't be a bad idea either.

If we keep this up, though, there won't be much use left for Off Topic anymore! Every topic imaginable will already have a forum

I want a toe nail clipping forum.
Think about it, we have about 160,000 members. We each have about 10 toes. That's 1,600,000 toe nails. We post about computers and home theaters and I bet those two things COMBINED, don't reach 1,600,000.

Why don't we just havee a main category for nails, then break that into sub forums for each nail. Something like this.

All You Need to Know About Nails
> Right Thumb Nail forum
> Right Index Nail forum
> Right Middle Nail forum
> Right Ring Nail forum
> Right Pinky Nail forum

...

> Left Foot Pinky Toe forum

That way we don't have to weed thru 1,600,000 posts about the wrong nail.

I love the new changes for one - just don't take out the features that are here now.

I kind of like it too. Change is always awkward at first. Though I wish "My Forums" was like the old one. Where I can look at my recent posts or threads with just one click.

We should have a whole steak category with several steak preparation sub-forums.

MOOOOO

Hey... I'd support an entire forum for Jack Bauer as well, but I probably wouldn't get many takers!

Because they take away from what would otherwise have been a good discussion if it was in the right place.

If theres too many subforums, the population gets spread too thin, and theres no point posting in a particular subforum when so few people will see it.

If theres no subforums, everything is just one big discombobulated mess, and it doesnt attract the same disucssion and expertise that a dedicated subforum does.

Look at how successful P&N was...the wackos in there get to have their field day, without bothering anyone else. The fact that they have a playground all to themselves has led to flamewars that truely could not have been imagined when it was all in OT, and it doesnt have to bother the rest of us.

An Auto forum make sense. CE forums make sense. So does gaming. I cant really think of anything else worth splitting or adding.

True.. I forget how popular ATOT is to some people and I am sure they don't want to destroy that..

Cooking does sound silly but Autos sounds helpful .. I am sure a lot of people will benefit from it

There have been a lot of good cooking threads and there are some good cooks around here. Couple that with the age group and I can be in favor of teaching people basic cooking skills/recipies.

Make it a food forum:

1) cooking
2) grilling/steak
3) easy recipies
4) mixology/cocktails

I guess that is where my post came from.

The age group of this forum could benefit greatly from "geek cooking". Why do you think alton brown is so popular?

Just a suggestion. Heck it could be labeled "cooking for geeks", it's efficient, it's easy, and you can impress the womens.

Why don't we have a home improvement section while we're at it too. And how about a gardening section, and a math section, and a science section, and an art section, and a meteorology section, and a ping pong section, etc etc etc.

The way OT was, the cooking forum would only consist of a bunch of wannabe grill nerds discuss how 1337 it is to sear your steaks in a cast iron skillet in the oven rather than grilling them. Oh, and there would be pics of said steaks.
