Buy this scanner. It better than the 1240U that is replacing it that came out last minthlast month. Supports Windows 2000. It's a great scanner

Super hot deal on the best scanner in its price range.

I have a HP 6350, and IMHO this scanner is not as good as that
one. But the HP retails for over $400. This one comes within
shouting distance, and it's only $100. WAY WAY WAY better
than stuff like the consumer grade UMAX scanners, or the
bargain bin $30-after-rebate no-namers.

Hey everyone...

I bought one of these scanners as a present for Ma...I gotta admit I was pretty surprised. I have an older Epson ScanJet IIcx that originally cost about $1200.00 during its time (can ya believe I bought it at the "Good-Will" used computer store in my town for $25.00??? They didn't realize what they had...cost me more for the SCSI card that it uses!!!). Anyway, the Epson in this post is really fast compared to all the other inexpensive scanners. The scans are excellent (photos especially). Ma uses it as a "copy machine" of sorts to send scans directly to her printer. Remember you can also fax stuff with this as long as you have fax software on your puter. I did A LOT of research before I bought this unit and Ma loves it. Nothing under $100.00 can touch this thing (for that matter nothing under $200.00 either - which is what I paid). I would definitely recommend it. The only drawback is that it does not scan Legal sized paper (8.5" x 14&quot but who cares. To have a scanner of that capacity you would have to spend a lot more.
