How are these shows classified?

For some odd reason the classification for these fix-em-up shows elude me. I don't think they're called "Reality" shows are they? When I think of Reality shows, American Idol and Who Wants to Marry a Millionaire comes to mind.

So what do you call these fix-em-up shows? Some friends and I are doing a project like This Old House. But instead of a house, we're doing a motorcycle so we're naming it This Old Bike.
