And let me guess.............command line time right?

I would change the DSL modem to bridge mode. If not, you don't need a router or you double NAT. You could subnet the 192.168.1.XXX network but that would require changes in your DSL modem config also. This would let you route through the Edgerouter to the DSL modem, but this seems to be undesirable also.

Cannot change modem to bridge mode as they do not offer PPPoE in my area.

In a few months I will be moving it to time warner cable in which the modem is a modem, it will be sending out the real IP. In the meantime I am struggling to get it to work. If connects, finds the 192.168.1.46 from the modem, however it is not communicating.

I do not understand how to make nat rules.

What version of the EdgeMax software do you have installed?

What DSL modem are you using and who is the ISP?

V 1.5.0 and also the new 1.6.0 alpha 3.

Modem is a westell 6100 with Verizon. It supports PPPoE but Verizon does not in my area.

My Linksys BEFSX41 works fine. New edgrouter does not.

I have used the beta version, not that alpha version. The UI is much better, no CLI needed.

That isn't the ideal solution if you're double NATing. Not sure if I would use the 2nd router in this case.

The Unifi Access Points are raved about.

Yes, most of their other product lines, especially their point to multipoint products and Airmax stuff, is complete shit.

Cambium/Motorola has forgotten more about quality wireless broadband than Ubiquiti will ever know, even with the people they have recruited out of the Canopy team.

Why don't you just use the Westell 6100's firewall and add a switch rather than another router? At lease until they have the ability to support PPPoE. Does the Westell limit DHCP to one device?
