Question How bad is VA panel for gaming ? AOC q27g2u

Hello, how bad is VA panel for gaming ? I play pretty much everything. I would like to buy new VA AOC q27g2u 1440p 144hz freesyc + now also gsync compatible. I had 144hz ips in the past (2yrs back) but this new VA panel is basically half the price of 1440p 144hz IPS panels (LG 27gl850 / lg 27gl83a for example) . AOC is about 250 USD less in my country. I would use this VA panel purely for gaming/browsing because I have also second screen which is 4K 60hz IPS for photo editing. Do you think its a good choice ? Because price is really nice. THX

Recommend you view the actual panel and test it with sample test images.

VA panels are able to display very outstanding black level, but a few of the ones Ive viewed were unsatisfactory because of loss of detail in the black areas of the pix.

You'll have to decide for yourself if this is not an issue for your games. It was a show stopper for me as a display for photo work and for movie video watching.

Of the available feedback I've seen online in Reddit and YouTube, people seem pretty pleased with it overall. It will make for a very dramatic gaming improvement over a 4k/60 non VRR display.

I have a TN 144hz panel and a VA 144hz panel. The TN panels are faster than IPS and VA. VA panels have an overdrive feature to prevent trailing or ghosting. I have not seen any ghosting or lag on the VA panel.
