Might upgrade soon, have a 42" TV and I sit 9-10 feet away from the tv.

a 55-60" looks f'ing huge...and that seems to be barely on the big size nowadays

also, how well do you appreciate your unique size/distance ratio?

Mine is OK. I think something bigger might give it the wow factor

Yeah, currently I sit about 10ft away from a 50" tv. I do wish the size ratio was larger - either a larger display or closer. Truly, it does need to be closer, based on those numbers, to better match up with ideal ratios.

32 inch and about 8-10 feet away. Might want a 42 inch model soon but I don't even have hd cable.

I've got a 70", 65", 60", 55", 42", and some others. I sit about 8 feet away from all of them.

However, 99% of my TV viewing is on a 24" in the kitchen or on iPads.

how big of a difference is the 60" vs your 42"?

sort of a "meh" or "i am spoiled with 60 and hard to go back" feeling?

Luckily I stepped down...had the 60 for a few years, then the 50 for a few years and now the 42...I noticed the step down from 60->50 more than the 50->42. I'm ok w/ the 42 for now.

I would have gone bigger when my 50 died it just was unexpected and I did not have the free $$ to spend on a TV at the time- next one will prob be a 60".

60" is about as big as I'm willing to go.

I don't want to have something too tall for my nifty home theater cabinet i built a ways back

That looks pretty ghett... um... rustic. I like it. Seriously :^)

it looks a lot better in person, the camera washed out the color with the flash jumping on the poly coat

it's lovable like an ugly child

Better than my tiny coffee table holding up my tv. I wonder if a 42 inch tv would fit on it.

55" and about 12'. Next one will be a 70", 80" if the price comes down to sub $2k in a couple years.

The perfect size TV is not room dependent, but furniture dependent. If you're bolting the TV to the wall, then bigger the better; size doesn't matter. That's why projectors do just fine. On the other hand, if you're sitting it on top of your entertainment center, then you don't want the TV to look bigger than what it's sitting on. On the same token, you don't want a little TV being setup on top of this grand entertainment center, 'cause that'll look out of place too.

So the question is, how wide is your entertainment center?
