I think he's referring to the fact many people here couldn't tell a "there" from a "their" if their very life depended on it, and I agree. In fact I suspect, AT being what it is, many padded their numbers a bit and gave themselves the benefit of the doubt on uncertainties.

475 - a lot of that was from Latin and other languages, which doesn't quite seem fair.... there were also a lot of medical terms that I recognized but didn't know the definition of, so I didn't check. I did get the science/engineering related ones though (chamfer, henry, etc.)

The first three columns were EASY... the fourth I knew all of several times and only one or two another few times. Very strange test I'd say, overall.

460... Comp. Engg. Major. Honestly, I'm surprised at the 19 600+ votes on the results. I tend to think of myself near the top when it comes to vocabulary, but it's good to know that there are people out there who are so well-versed.

407, not bad for someone for whom english is a second language.
But this test was kinda odd. Many of those words may be in fact english but were taken from language like French or Latin.
Not just that but it's also a question of how well educated you are. Not just in english, but overall. Too many of those words were specific scientific words. I think I could have been born english speaking and still have te same score because of that. Or even worse since I knew all the french words and many of the latin ones ( I've studied latin for 2 years ).

I got the college graduate ranking, I'm interested in knowing what all the rankings are.
Nice to see I still score a level above what I should be at for these tests, back in middle school I used to always score high school level, I didn't think my vocabulary had grown that much since then, but maybe there's not a huge difference between high school level and college graduate level. (mainly the scientific and more foreign words I guess)
