I get stuck with the Raiders and/or 49ers every week. I happen to want to watch the Raiders vs Seahawks, but I also want to watch Denver vs Patriots! Guess I'll have to watch it on Game Rewind. I just don't see Ravens vs Steelers as having national appeal. It was different when the Steelers didn't need Geritol and the Ravens had Lewis and Reed, but I dunno about now.

Well the Pitt/Ravens game will probably air in those markets and should be an interesting game but as far as the rest of the country everyone want's to see PM vs TB as both of these future HOF QB's gets older these are games to savor over. Even more enticing both offenses are clicking big time so it should be a heck of a game.

Saints on the road on a Thursday night for the division lead. This just sounds like a disaster to me, but most people seem to think the Saints win this one.

Last 12 road games for the Saints

@DET 23-24 L
@DAL 17-38 L
@CLE 24-26 L
@ATL 37-34 (OT) L
@SEA 15-23 L
@PHI 26-24 W
@CAR 13-17 L
@STL 16-27 L
@SEA 7-34 L
@ATL 17-13 W
@NYJ 20-26 L
@NE 27-30 L

In 5 of those 10 losses, the Saints had a lead late in the 4th quarter.

In order to attempt to catch that practice squad magic, Raiders sign Michael Sam to their practice squad.

Teams with Sam on the practice squad are 6-1. Teams that have cut him, have yet to have a winning record.

And blown calls were directly responsible for their last 2 wins. Non existent PI call 2 weeks ago and a non existent delay of game last week.

Mistakes happen...you cannot blame that on the Lions, and they're sure as heck aren't going to apologize for getting those wins.

How about the Falcons NOT blow a 21-point lead? How about Drew Brees NOT being baited on a game losing INT? How about covering Tate and not having him blow your D up for a 50+ yard TD?

Other teams have beat the Lions based on Lions mistakes (remember the buffalo win and all the missed FGs), but I'm not hearing you complain about Buffalo getting a fluke win, nor are Bills fans complaing about getting a well-deserved win over us.

But, Golden Tate has probably been the best FA pickup this season and he's filling in admirably for Calvin.

rg3 starting against vikings this weekend.

wonder how many people in this thread would be picking the vikings to win against washington had kai forbath missed that fieldgoal in OT and the cowboys go down the field and score a td lol.

i find it comical when people put losses on the refs due to 1 questionable call or missed call in a game. i work kinda near baltimore and you should hear all of the idiots in the office talking about how the refs won that game for the bengals on the bs offsides PI call against smith, calling it just a flop.

news flash - you can't grab someones jersey. smith obviously grabbed his jersey and you and you can see him ball up his hand and pull the defenders jersey. how about you just don't grab his jersey? he was going to fall down due to momentum anyways.

oh, and how bout flacco not throw 2 picks earlier in the game to help the ravens out? how about that?

but no ... let's blame it on the refs. the blame game is the american way. no one can take responsibility for their own shortcomings.

I don't be bother bring that up anymore. People love to say "Oh, this one play cost them the game!" Um, what about all the other plays that lead to the game depending on a single play? Let's look at the Cowboys. Sure, that final drive lost them the game, but had they made better plays prior, they wouldn't have been in that position in the first place.

Yep, one play never decides a game. Perhaps if Baltimore scored on drive X, which would have cause the Begals to do something different on the next drive, which would have perhaps put the Ravens in a position to where they didn't have to go deep to Smith, and the PI never would have happened because they play wouldn't have happened.

Yeah, I don't bother arguing about the refs causing a win/loss.

As an absolute diehard Pats fan, this Denver game makes me very nervous for several reasons.

1) Peyton - There is a reason why most New Englanders hate Peyton so much. He scares the sh*t out of us. No lead is safe.

2) That Broncos pass rush! Brady has been getting rid of the ball faster, and his O-line has improved, but that Denver rush is scary.

3) Those offensive weapons. Denver is just loaded. Pats improved secondary may be able to hang with them for awhile, but for 60 minutes?

4) Level of competition: Denver has played a much higher level of competition and has dominated. Pats destroying a very overrated Bengals team and a bad Bears team doesn't mean as much as what Denver did to San Fran and San Diego.

5) Peyton again, just because.

It brings a tear to my eye to pick against my Pats, but Denver takes this one 34-27.

I'm scared too, the other way. It's a much improved Denver defense compared to last year, but Brady's comeback from last year's reg season game still stings a bit Luckily being the Thursday night game last week gives Denver a little extra rest before Sunday, but also playing outside of Denver affects Manning more than a lot of QBs with how much communication he has.

It'll be a good one, but I'm giving NE the edge since they're at home.

So Seattle gets a free win which means the Niners need to beat the Rams.

I was relieved when I saw they had the Raiders this week. They're looking a little better, but still really wobbly. They need to string some wins together.

Oh, no no. I suffered through the late 70's and 80's with Harold Jackson, Steve Grogan (and his gimpy neck) and the legendary John Hannah.

I remember the Drew Bledsoe/Rick Mirer debate which raged on for months. Who should be picked #1? So glad the Pats took Bledsoe and extremely thankful for that Mo Lewis hit!

Yup. For whatever reason they are just terrible on the road. I don't know why they can't figure it out, but it's been like that for years.

The Chargers game is pretty much a must win for them to stay near the top of the playoff picture. The Dolphins create trouble for them and the Chargers lost to them last year.

Well they looked like the road Saints in the first half, but they managed to get their stuff together. Not getting my hopes up though.

lot of weird turnovers and near turnovers for a good chunk of the game. somewhat surprised to see how many picked the saints in fantasy, was hoping that win would give me an advantage for the weekend.

In typical fashion, Doug Buffone summed up the hopeless Bears feeling on this terrible Sunday.

"We have a bye week coming up," he said. "I wish it was a bye year."
